She smiled and looped her arm around mine as we headed to our class. Our major was the same, which was business administration, as we both belonged to families with business backgrounds. "By the way, our first semester is over. When is Richard coming?" Sofia inquired. The thought of him instantly brought happiness to me. Sofia, however, looked at me with pure disgust, a reaction that wasn't new for me. She rolled her eyes. "Come on, you are a total stupid w***e, trying to force a relationship with someone who isn't destined for you," she remarked with her usual bitchy attitude. I was used to her brutal honesty, knowing deep down that she truly cared about me. "You aren't listening," she added. Nervously, I smiled at her, realizing I had been lost in thoughts of my romance with Richard Jones, the man I had been with for two years. He packed her lips and both left from there. *** I reached to home finding my step mom with whom I am on good terms, everyone says it's weird because a step mother and daughter aren't bound to get along but we do not too much but aren't evil with each other. I applied some fresh honey body cream and went to my bad for sleep just at time there was a message from unknown number popping up to my phone. "Is it Lena Jean Foster?" With my hair neatly tied in a high bun, I paired black loose pants with an oversized white hoodie. My round black glasses sat just right on my face, but my pimples still peeked through. Sometimes I felt insecure because of the stares, especially from my step-sister and classmates at university. Grabbing the sunscreen, I applied it to my fair skin, knowing it would highlight my pimples even more. I grabbed my Gucci bag and slipped on my Zara shoes before heading downstairs. There sat my family: dad and mom together, and my twin brother, who always seem to silently check on me, sitting next to my chair. He glanced at me briefly, then returned to his breakfast. I greeted my parents with a small bow and a genuine smile, especially at my step-mother, whose gentle smile always warmed my heart. I ruffled Ryan's back hair and kissed his both cheek, as I always did. "Hey, what's happening here?" I said cheerfully, but my cheer faded when I noticed Richard and Ferris together, her arm around his. My dad's face turned red, maybe from anger or annoyance, I wasn't sure. Mom seemed awkward, and my brother's hand found mine, holding it tightly. Ferris smirked, and Richard looked bothered. It was clear what was happening now.
