Chapter 35 Alex P.O.V. I am sitting at my desk in my tiny, cramped office. You know in the movies that show the congressman in these huge luxury offices. Well, you only get those offices if you are a senior senator. For those of us who this is your first term serving in the Congress, you get this tiny room that barely fits your desk and filing cabinets. I put a television on the filing cabinet which stays tuned into CSPAN. I usually leave it on in case I see something of interest but mainly for background noise. I have excused my staff hours ago. There is no need for them to work late on a Friday afternoon when there are no meetings or votes scheduled till the middle of next week.
