Chapter 9- What Comes Next and Possible Mates; Audra POV

Chapter 9- Audra pov  

The next morning when we get up Saint looks a little worse for wear. I probably shouldn’t have hit him in the face so many times. I think he can feel me looking at him “Babe I am fine stop looking at me like that. You know by this afternoon I will go back to looking like gorgeous self again.” I laugh at him. I have no idea what I would do without him “if you say so love. I just feel bad. I should have not hit you so many times.” He grunts “maybe but you did what you had to do to win. I am not mad at it. If anything, I am proud of you. My mate is a badass.” He smiles at me and I roll my eyes. “Well this badass is hungry so I am going to find food. Are you coming with me?” He nods and we get dressed and head downstairs. Apparently everyone had the same thought we did and we all met in the hallway. We all look at each other and then take off down the stairs in a race. Morgan and I team up and we beat the boys. We get to the plates and make our food first. Saint and Mason look at each other “I don’t think its fair that our mates teamed up against us. I think we should do something about it don’t you.” I see Saint smirk I know this is not going to be good. Morgan and I hold our plates close as our mates come in on us. I put my fork up in defense “I would stand back we have weapons and we will use them.” Saint and Mason laugh. “You two don’t scare us.” Saint tricks me by thinking he is going to take my fork but then he grabs my plate and runs off. I see Mason did the same thing to Morgan she yells “That’s not nice assholes. Just remember karma will be after you.” All they do is laugh and eat the food we put on our plates. Morgan and I look at each other and roll our eyes and make new plates. When we go to sit down we go the opposite side of where our mates our and sit together ignoring them. We can feel them staring at us but we chose to ignore them and be in our own conversation. I notice JJ, Nate, and Austin are all cracking up on the side. The boys give them the evil eye and then we all focus on our food. A few minutes later our fathers come in. My dad looks at us “once you are all done eating come to the conference room. We need to discuss the next challenge and we have an update on the vampire situation.” We all nod and shovel the food in as fast as we can.  Once we are all done we go down to the conference room. We walk in and get seated my dad stands up “so the scouts that we sent out to go look at the spot where Audra was. They picked up on their scent it looked like they were looking for something and then smelled Audra and decided to try and start something. They were not there the whole time you were there Audra. I have no idea how they got there or what they were looking for but we are going to keep digging.” We nod in agreement Saint looks at my dad “do you know what direction they came from?” My dad nods “they were closer to the mountain it seemed like they were looking in all the caves and holes which makes us think that they were looking for something. I think they were trying to get around to the other side and thought that it was faster to cut through the spot Audra was at. We have people up there now trying to find out what they were looking for.” Saint nods once to my dad. My dad looks at everyone else “anyone have any other questions before we move on?” No one speaks up “alright lets move on to the next thing to discuss the second challenge will be held at Alpha James and Saints pack the WhiteWood Pack. We are still finalizing the details of the next challenge but I will tell you we will not be sending you out on your own again. After what happened to Audra we thought we would change some things to make it safer on that front. We will be leaving tonight for the WhiteWood pack. So go get your stuff together and get ready to head out when the sun goes down.” We all nod and my dad dismisses us and sits down with the other alphas. I’m guessing they are planning the next challenge. We all go to the living room to hang out since we have a while before we leave and it doesn’t take long for any of us to pack. I look at the guys “so what do you guys think the second challenge is going to be?” Austin stretches out on the couch I notice he is sitting awfully close to Nate. I look at Morgan and she is noticing as well she smirks at me. I know we will have to evaluate that at a later time. The other guys don’t notice of course. Mason looks at me “I have no idea but I hope its something easy like an obstacle course or something.” We all laugh and Morgan hits him with a pillow from the couch. JJ sighs “You all know its not going to be easy especially since they cannot go with their original plan. They are going to make it harder and more draining.” Saint looks at him “I think you are right. If I know my dad and I like to think I know him pretty well. We are all going to wish we were dead by the end of this one.” We all sigh after that one. Nate looks at Saint “Dude do you think you have any idea as to what it might be.” Saint lays his head down on my lap and stretches out on the side of the couch we are on and lets out a groan “no and I wish I had an idea but at this rate is anyone's guess and that terrifies me.” I look down at him “I feel the same way love.” Morgan stands up “ok enough with the heavy stuff lets all relax for a little while and watch a movie and then we can all go pack.” We all nod in agreement to her “Audra will you come help me make popcorn and you guys can pick out a movie.” I look at her “Morgan is that really a good idea letting them choose. We are going to have to watch some horror movie or something.” The guys laugh and Morgan rolls her eyes “It will be fine now come with me to make some popcorn. We have things to discuss.” She looks at the guys “We will be right back do not do anything stupid while we are gone.” Before any of them could respond we were out of the room and walking to the kitchen. Once we are in the kitchen and we start the popcorn Morgan looks at me. “Ok I know you saw the thing with Austin and Nate. Spill what do you think is going on.” I shake my head “girl your guess is as good as mine. I never noticed it before but to be fare I never really paid that close attention to them.” She nods “neither have I, do you want to know what I think?” I shake my head yes. She looks out all the doors to make sure no one is listening “I think they are mates and they just don’t want to tell anyone. I mean come on two straight dudes would never sit like they were sitting and be comfortable. I love it I think they are so cute together.” I smile at her “I know but let's not jump to conclusions yet we need to get them alone away from the other guys so we can talk to them.” Morgan nods enthusiastically and I roll my eyes at her “Morgan don’t do anything crazy ok we will find the time to talk to them.” She shakes her head at me “I won’t now let's take this popcorn to the guys before they come looking for us.” I nod and follow her out in the hallway she whispers “don’t worry though I am already thinking of a way for us to talk to them without it being suspicious.” I laugh and roll my eyes at her. We get back to the living room Morgan and I go back to the spots we were sitting in originally and hand out the popcorn. Saint looks at me “Dang we thought we needed to send out a search party for you two.” I laugh “we had to make like three bags of popcorn you guys eat a lot.” They all nod Nate takes a big handful “You are not wrong there.” I look at Morgan and she and I both look at Austin watching Nate eat shoving the popcorn in his mouth. Yep, something is defiantly up with those two. Morgan looks at Mason who is shoveling in the popcorn as well “what movie did you guys pick.” He smirks “We are watching The Purge.” ugh Morgan and I both roll our eyes. I give her a I told you so look that she ignores. Saint starts the movie and that is what we do the rest of the afternoon. Once it get’s closer to dusk we all split up to pack our bags. I pack enough to make sure it will last me a while because I know it will be awhile before I come back home. Saint helps me pack and I can tell he wants to ask me a question I walk over to him “I can feel you staring at me what is your question?” he smirks “nothing really I just wanted to know what you and Morgan were talking about that it took you so long to come back to the living room.” Dang it I have to lie even though I hate it “we were talking about girl stuff and what we were going to pack to make sure we had enough of everything we needed.” Saint nods but I know he doesn’t believe me “I know that is not the whole truth but if you don’t want to tell me yet that is fine but you know I will find out.” he smirks as he takes my bags and I want to kick him in the ass right now but I think better of it. I mind link Morgan “Girl Saint knows something he asked me what you and I were talking about in the kitchen. I lied and told him we were discussing what we needed to pack” “I know Mason asked me the same thing. I told him the same thing so now in case they try to interrogate us we have a story we were talking about stuff to pack and that’s it. We cannot let them know what we know.” “ I am in total agreement.” I cut off the link when Saint looks at me “who were you talking to love?” I smile at him “just Morgan I wanted to make sure she didn’t need help.” He nods and smirks as he walks away. I stick my tongue out at him as I follow. Once we get downstairs and help load all the cars with our stuff my dad looks at us “Once we get to WhiteWood we will discuss what is going to happen next so I would suggest you all rest on the drive over because its going to be a little bit before you are able to sleep again.” He gives us this evil smirk and gets in the car. We all look at each other and we are all terrified our dads start laughing at us as they get in the vehicles. Saint and I get in the car. Morgan and Mason get into our car as well they take the back while Saint and I take the bucket seats. Once everyone is settled, we start our journey to WhiteWood. I take Saints hand and hold it as I lean back in my seat and let sleep take over.
