The Side Story Of Lapu Lapu Ever since Lapu Lapu was young he has achieved a lot of things, he is good at sport, he knows how to read at the very young age and a warrior of Mactan. But because of his achievements he is very well known person in Mactan and was being looked up a lot. To maintain the power and his position he was being married to her three wives politically to maintain peace and title. He even had 11 children to his three wives but the sad truth Lapu Lapu never experienced to be in love with someone and oy thinks that this marriage and his family is just a responsibility. Until he met Ferdinand Magellan a Spaniard who travels around the sea for searching spices. Lapu Lapu was being overwhelmed knowing that there is a foreigners in their land because it is knew to him and a good experience to know other culture. He meet Ferdinand Magellan and teach him about the language in Mactan and their culture. Little did he know that Ferdinand Magellan is the one is leading the expedition and will conquer the Mactan because of its reach minerals and soil. But unexpected things happened as they spend time with each other the more feeling they develop towards each other. They used to spar with each other and having fun swimming and drinking. Lapu Lapu who spends a lot of time with Ferdinand neglected his responsibility to his family. On the other side Ferdinand who confirmed that he had feelings towards Lapu Lapu can't stop thinking on what to do if he betray his men. Ferdinand decided to distance himself from Lapu Lapu until Lapu Lapu became conscious to the presence of Ferdinand. Lapu Lapu is very confused because he never felt this feeling of missing someone. So he decided to follow Ferdinand and trying to confront him about his feeling but he did not expect that his first wife is suspecting him of having an affair. Her first wife witness Lapu Lapu confessing to Ferdinand and knowing that their feelings are mutual. The first wife is so devastated on what she witness so she run back to his family and tell his father that Lapu Lapu is having an affair with Ferdinand Magellan. The father was very angry that how could Lapu Lapu disrespect his family and their religion. They paid men to spy on the Spaniard until the news came out that the Spaniard are planning to conquer the Mactan. The news spread so fast that made the Mactan people became wary towards the Spaniards. Ferdinand Magellan has no choice but to go with their plans conquering the Mactan and shun himself in his room so that he can no longer lie to Lapu Lapu. On the other hand Lapu Lapu feel betrayed and thinks that Ferdinand take advantage of his feelings to use him but this never stop Lapu Lapu to still love him because he knows that their love is genuine and doesn't care of what others may say. Lapu Lapu heard that the spy will kill the leader which is Ferdinand because of this Lapu Lapu was worried that there might be bad something will happen to Ferdinand so he come up with the idea of capturing them and imprison them. Through imprisonment, he can protect Ferdinand from the warriors who is trying to harm them. But things went wrong when Ferdinand knew that Lapu Lapu was the one who would be leading to capture them, he was very angry and disappointed with Lapu Lapu, so he decided to fight back to the Mactan warriors. The war started and Lapu Lapu couldn't find Ferdinand Magellan. There are so many bodies and blood everywhere until their eyes meet in the middle of the fight. Ferdinand ran towards him with anger and attacked Lapu Lapu. Lapu Lapu didn't fight back, all he did was to defend while he was trying to calm Ferdinand. Lapu Lapu saw an opening and hugged Ferdinand and whispered the words "Why do we have an ill-fated destiny?" Ferdinand was stunned by his words and hugged him back while the tears were slowly pouring from his eyes. Ferdinand was very happy that he had met Lapu Lapu and they were planning to run away until one of the Mactan warriors shot Ferdinand with a poisoned arrow from the back when they were near the boat. Lapu Lapu doesn't know what to do, knowing that Ferdinand will die soon. All he could do was to kiss him goodbye. No one really knows how Lapu Lapu died, but the people of Mactan saw the stone statue of Lapu Lapu where they found the body of Ferdinand Magellan. Ever since the Mactan people thought that Lapu Lapu was the one who killed Magellan and greatly contributed to the war. So they realize that the stone statue of Lapu Lapu guarding the seas is portraying that he will not let any Spaniards to land in Mactan. Little did they know that Lapu Lapu wasn't guarding the sea, he was waiting for Ferdinand Magellan to come back.
