Gabriella Sweet Tooth Bakery. It's my mother's bakery which she opened with the money offered to us by Dominic to start a new life. It was mom's dream to work at a bakery now she has her own business. We work together but I won't be working there for long. While I was pregnant I decided to do an online assistant program. I've been homeschooled my whole life because Madame Rouge was afraid I'd run away. I didn't attend college but I did a program to qualify me for an assistant position in a company. I know it's not ambitious but it's secure. I have to search for a suitable kindergarten so I can leave Diana there when I get a job. Mom is not an option because she's always busy with her work and I can't burden her for the safety of her health. She has a weak heart that should not under any circumstances be put under pressure or given a shock. The only thing I'm worried about is leaving Diana in an unfamiliar place for hours without seeing her. I know it will be difficult for her to be without me because she is always attached to me even in the bakery I have to carry her in a baby carrier. Being a mother is so exhausting but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. No matter how angry or frustrated I get I would never regret having Diana. She's my life and I know we still have a long way to go before she all grown up. I take pictures of each and every one of her developments and milestones so I can relieve the moments that are moving too fast. If we come across her father one day, we will be able to show him all that he has missed. I hope that day is never too late or never comes. It would be such a shame. I was currently feeding her baby cereal but she's making a mess. She's blowing off the food and making it scatter on my clothes. That's why I always have to be cautious and wear an apron to prevent her from spoiling them. " Oh come on D baby, eat up or mama won't carry you anymore." I tried to coerce her into eating as if she understood me. She just continued to blow on the food. Eventually, I gave up. She's so stubborn I can't deal with her at times. " Fine D, I give up so you'll just have to starve." I left her hanging on the baby strapper chair and tried to clean her mess. Mom came into the kitchen a few minutes later and I told her to try and feed her or she'd be a pain the whole day. She laughed at me. " Like mother like daughter." She chuckled reminiscing my childhood. " You used to do the very same thing she does, giving me a hard time. Now she's doing it to you and getting my revenge for me, " she said mocking me. " Oh mom, don't laugh. If she keeps this up she will not get enough nutrition and get sick." She sobered up and stopped laughing. " Don't be silly, once she gets hungry she'll gobble up everything you feed her. Just let her be for now." I sighed and nodded. She's right, when she gets too hungry she'll eat to satiate her hungry. She was waving around her hand and making baby noises as usual. Mom looked was lost in thought so I snapped my fingers in front of her. " Mom, are you alright. You were gone for a moment there?" I asked and she just shook her head. " No, I'm fine I just thinking." " Care to share what is disturbing you. You know you can talk to me. " I placed my hand on hers in comfort. Whatever she was thinking about, made her upset. " I was thinking about my mother." I was surprised. Mom never wanted to talk much about her parents but now she remembers her mother. " I was thinking about how vice been blessed with a child like you. How much I love you and would do absolutely everything for you. Something my mother could never do for me." Sadness seeped from her voice. She looked me in the eyes and softly smiled. " I know I never spoke much of the past and you never asked much about." My ears pecked up. Yes, she was Always tight-lipped about her past but I didn't care enough to ask more about it after she shut me out. I was never an insistent person. " I guess I can tell you now. " She took a deep breath and began her story. " My bad times didn't begin in the strip club. They began at. home, where I used to live. That place was another personal hell for me. I never felt the love of my parents as they were self-absorbed and did not care about me. I just always thought I was the unspoken mistake of their lives," she said chuckling bitterly. " My mother was an ambitious woman who thought of herself better even though she had nothing. My father was just a mechanic for the locals in town. She would always insult him for being poor and not being able to sufficiently provide for us. That messed him up as he developed a drinking problem and gambled with the little money he earned. The physical abuse began, he hit me and my mother. Mom joined him drinking and things just got worse at home. Every day they would fight and trash up the house. I would have to clean up the mess only for it to happen again every time. I had to take up a job at a local dinner so I could provide some food for us. All they did was drink and beat me or each other. " I can't mom had it hard from the beginning. I took her hands in mine and squeezed them to show her that I feel for her and smiled some tears escaping her eyes. Diana too was quiet and had a curious expression. She looked so cute. " I nearly got raped. My mother started bringing strangers that would sleep with and pay her money. She became a w***e. Father would disappear for days." " One day I came back home from school tired and in need of a warm bath. When I was in the bathroom I heard my bedroom door open so wore a robe to go check who it was only to find it was one of my mother's regular customer. He had my panties in his hands sniffing them. I got scared and tried to get back in the bathroom but I tripped and he pounced on me. He started kissing me all over my face but I didn't make it easy, I fought him, kicking and scratching. When I got an opening I kneed him in the groin and got up. To slow him down enough for me to run I took a vase and smashed it on the back of his head. I didn't care if he died on not I ran down the stairs and out of the house. I stayed out walking around like a lunatic with a robe. My you, I was a loner. I had no friend I could go to so I was all alone. When it got late I went back in hopes that the man would be gone. Indeed he was not there when I got inside. I took no chances and locked myself in. After a couple of months with my father nowhere to be found my mom told me she was leaving. Honestly, I wasn't surprised and I didn't care. She was leaving with a who she claimed was rich. That was the best day of my life. With her and my father gone I would finally have peace." She laughed when saying that but continued. That was short-lived when my father came back. He looked like hell and was frantic and on edge as if he was waiting on something. Little did I know that he was running from dangerous people. During the time he was AMI he was causing trouble. He burrowed a lot of money for gambling that he couldn't payback. They just barged in the house looking. Turns out he was on the run from them but they caught up to him. When they wanted to end him he threw me to the wolves. He said if they let him go he would give them me and they agreed. I tried to fight but I got knocked out and the next thing I knew I woke up in the Strip club. It was like escaping one hell to another." No, she was crying. I got up from my chair to embrace her fully. She was all alone going through a lot of s**t. I feel lucky that through my difficult times I have her by my side. Even Diana is lucky to have her as a grandmother.
