Chapter 1
"...You can't keep refusing Kimberly Swiss," Williams Mallon, Sebastian's grandfather, said frantically.
"I'm not interested in Johnson Swiss's daughter," Sebastian Mallon said, as he crunched the cheeseburger in his mouth slightly.
Strong and unique, Sebastian's orotund voice always filled the air when he spoke. They were soft; yet dreadful.
Sebastian Mallon hated it when his grandparents talked about him to women. Gosh!
"…What do you mean? Huh?" Rosalie Mallon, his grandmother asked with a bitter expression on her face.
" Son, get over the past. It's been nineteen whole years now" Williams Mallon, Sebastian's Grandfather said, patting Sebastian's shoulders slightly.
It's been almost two months since Sebastian Mallon visited his Grandparents. And now, he has decided to have dinner with them that evening.
" Life is cruel Grandfather" Sebastian Mallon's face grew pale as he cleaned his mouth with a napkin.
" There you go again" His Grandmother scoffed, passing more Ravioli pasta
to her husband.
Pathetically, Roselie Mallon fixed her wrinkled eyes that were almost teary and said to her grandson, " Get a wife, Sebastian, I beg of you"
Sebastian Mallon sat transfixed as he glared at the pathetic eyes of his Grandparents and shrugged.
"... I'll do that, but I gotta go now, Grandmother," Sebastian said, gazing at the time from his expensive wristwatch. It was 5: 34 Pm already.
He gave his Grandmother a peck on the right cheek as he stood up— as if it
would calm her nerves.
" Are you leaving? you hardly visited," Williams Mallon said with a furrowed eyebrow.
" I have something important to handle," Sebastian said walking towards his Grandfather who sat on the right side of the large table.
"... Stop doing this to us," Roselie said. " This isn't right!" This time around, her honeyed voice penetrated loudly but was a bit hoarse.
Her Mood was changed already, seeing Sebastian has decided to live in the shadow of his taunting past.
However, Sebastian Mallon loved his Grandparents. They were the only ones that mattered most to him in the world. But they were pushing hard on him to what he could not accede to.
" I have something for you–" his grandfather cuts in.
" What's that?" Sebastian asked with his hands tucked in his trousers.
" Just a beautiful gift" Williams Mallon said.
"...yeah, we prepared a nice gift for you" his Grandmother managed to speak after a while.
Sebastian Mallon was pretty confused at the moment. The expression on his Grandparents seemed a bit incoherent.
He looked around the large mansion and could still see those large picture frames hung meticulously in the large sitting room.
Nothing has changed a bit.
Seeing everything in place reminded Sebastian of his past.
The architecture, elegant chandeliers, and ornate furnishings exuded an air of sophistication.
Moments later, his grandfather left the dining room to go to the master bedroom. Williams Mallon was seventy- nine, yet full of strength.
He could walk down anywhere in the mansion with the support of his walking stick.
" Seat" Roselie Mallon said to her Sebastian who stood in astonishment.
Sebastian Mallon was tall and well-built and a handsome young man. His unfathomable black eyeballs contrasted exceptionally with his white tone.
He had a titan shoulder and a dishy masculinity and his hawkish nose and refined cheekbones sat well in his sculpted face.
Sebastian Mallon had a personality that commands authority. Few in words, he spoke in calmness without mincing words.
Tucking his hands in his trousers when he is angry is one of his quirks.
However, life's cruelty made Sebastian monstrous and brute.
As the CEO of Valley City, a Real Estate company he inherited from his parents five ago, he was always perceived by his employees as the ' Perfect Boss'.
Sebastian never tolerated slothfulness and incompetence from anyone around him. He was quick to fire such a jerk.
As regards ladies, Sebastian often refers to them as ' bad stalkers' especially the tall slim ones who stroke their heels gently on the floor to get his attention. They were all suffering from his sophistication and charms.
Ladies, he disliked a whole of them.
Although Sabastian was perceived as a mean person who hardly empathized with people, deep down, he was the most kind-hearted human.
The memory of that one scary night was still fresh in his mind.
The scary part was hunting him badly and he could not get over it.
" Grandfather is taking all the time on earth," He said to his Grandmother.
" Relax, he'll be here soon," Roselie said with a smile on her face. She was Seventy-Three yet ingenious and intelligent.
Just then, one of the housekeepers walked up to Mrs. Rosalie Mallon and whispered something to her ears.
" You may leave now," she said smilingly to the maid.
" Alright Ma'am" the housekeeper replied, bowing her head slightly in respect.
In less than five minutes after the housekeeper left, his grandfather came back to the sitting room. Sebastian and his Grandmother had left the dining area for the sitting room before then.
" You took all the time, honey," Roselie said, rubbing her hands gently on each other.
" What's that in your hands?" Sebastian asked, referring to the brown envelope in his Grandfather's hands.
Williams chuckled and said" The gift of course"
Sebastian was a bit nervous.
"What could be In that envelope?" he said internally.
Ding-Dong!
The bell struck, and the large entrance door of the mansion opened.
" Are you expecting anyone?" Sebastian asked, narrowing his bright eyes to the door.
" Hi dear," His grandmother said excitedly as Kimberly walked into the mansion looking elegantly endowed.
" What a beauty," Williams Mallon giggled.
Sebastian did not say a word. He sat patiently waiting for his Grandfather to finish with his guest.
" Oh my goodness!" Kimberly exclaimed in her high-pitched voice.
She walked briskly with her head high to hug Sebastian's Grandparents.
As Kimberly Swiss sat, Williams Mallon thought it necessary to introduce her to his grandson since they hadn't met till now.
Before Williams could say a word, Sebastian cut in laconically.
" Where is the gift Grandfather?"
" Here is the gift," his Grandfather snapped, pointing at Kimberly.
" What?" Sebastian
