Kiara's P.O.V.  What the hell is this? I opened my eyes right at the climax of an action movie where the heroes are kidnapped and kept in a dark scary place, but the question is, I am not the hero. I am a no one. What do they have to do with me? I curse the day when I signed up for this stupid trip with my dad and his best friend Aarav Kohli. Let's talk about my present situation. My hands were handcuffed too was hanged on a long cylindrical iron rod above my head, legs folded and knees on the dusty old floor. My body was sweating, fists burning with the tight metallic cuffs and shoulders unbearably in pain. I was angry, tired, and everything but scared.  It was a bit of relaxation because my father, Mr.Varun D'souza and dear uncle Arav Kohli were also hanged in the same manner. The two army heroes. Why should I fear when my saviors are right here but this is taking too long? "Dad, we need to get out, do something." He raised his eyebrows and said,  "Do you think I am in a state to do anything? "         I raised my eyebrow and said " you are a soldier, our army man! You have tackled this before."  Uncle Arav smirked and said, " yes we are soldiers, not magicians!"        Time passed ........ I was frustrated by now. They were just so calm. It felt like hours have passed.   "So what's your plan now?"    Uncle chuckled, saying, "We need help." Dad didn't pay any heed to our talk. He was busy with his train of thought.  Uncle added," we need help before. its too late"     " and who will help us? Your Nation!?!" I asked sarcastically.  I saw the two faces beside me turning red and orange. uncle replied, "you too belong to that nation." "Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes.      My dad gave me a deadly glare. He was angry with me. He hates when someone says anything bad about his country, but I still don't care. My father is a patriot but I am the complete opposite of him because I spent my childhood like an orphan. My mother was with me but she was always busy with her work, running her father's company. "shut up Kim(kiaria's nickname) listen. By the sound we hear from outside, it is clear that we are near some waterbody, so it won't be that hard to escape." said my father.  uncle added, "the worst part is how to get rid of this place?"   Suddenly a question arises in my mind why was I here? Which I should have asked before.   " Can I ask why I am also stuck with you over here? As far as I know, I am not a government worker and my calculations show that I am nothing except a student in the 2nd year of college."     Dad sighed," they think you are the key that opens the lock of my loyalty and they can easily get the information."  Uncle chuckled once again. "such fools,"  Dad too smiled and continued " really big fools."   He saw my question-mark face and added, "I know your curiosity to know everything."    A cold chill of fear ran through my spine. This terrified me. They could even kill me and these two people are so calm that all is next to nothing.  All the ugly thoughts of my torture came up. It worsened my condition. I was losing my patience. " Why are you punishing me?"     Before he could say anything, the old rusted door in front of us opened and two men came in. Behind them came a young man wearing a white t-shirt with a dark blue jacket and black jeans. He had curly black hair with wild green eyes.  One of the men brought a chair for him and he settled himself right beside me. His wild eyes were ready to eat me up. He gave a devilish smirk and said" My my Varun, you have a gorgeous daughter. I don't understand why you want me to kill her. Better give me my info or else your baby girl will be converted to ashes."     They both treated him like a bluffing politician. He grinned and his man went out and brought two metallic cuffs connected with a long broad dirty wire. On seeing that, my adrenaline got excited with flames inside and my outer body became as cold as ice. Dad saw me getting scared. He blinked once and said, "relax Kim, you will be fine." At that time I felt like you were pushing someone from a cliff and telling relax you would be fine. This is insane. I have to stop this. I don't have such guts. The man came and fixed it on my ankle.        I pleaded with him No, please show mercy. I am of no good to you. Please leave me...." I turned my gaze to his boss who was enjoying the show," please please green eyes...I mean Sir, no Bbb boss let me go. I don't want to die..." " Kim stop this. Don't overreact", I heard my dad's voice.      "Are you mad?!?! Can't you see these long wires?"     His man pressed a button on his remote. The same second a terrible wave of current ran through my body like a burning electric bolt, my whole body was vibrating. I felt fire running all through my nerves. Suddenly it stopped, and I was left with electrons buzzing up. Someone lifted my chin up to that green-eyed man. He smirked and said," Varun, don't be so cruel."     Dad gave a fake laugh. Meanwhile, uncle was just observing his surroundings. His eyes were, again and again, gazing at the door and window.  Mr. Green's eyes shifted his gaze to me and asked " Do you like insects?"    My eyes widened at this. I hated insects more than anything. If anyone asks me to choose between an insect or a ghost I will rather choose a ghost. I slowly twisted my head left-right, signaling a 'NO'.   "As you say, my lady". He again signaled his man and again he went out. God please anything but not those dirty, tiny, dark pieces of s**t.   His man came with a galvanized bucket. All I could see was a dark black thing. He kept it near me. No, it was something even worse, which is what I don't know but 100s of black, shiny worms. It's one glance made me cry, tears ran down my cheeks. I was continuously insisting him to please stop. I pleaded with dad and uncle to show mercy to their girl but nothing worked. His man lifted those insects and started sticking them on me. The moment they were connected to my skin it felt like many injections being pierced at the same time, they started sucking my blood. I couldn't even split a word, it was so much pain all over me. I was crying continuously.  Arav:" hey stop this. Do anything with us but leave her."  His men continued their sticking work. I was cursing them for every second of my suffering. If I survive, they will be murdered by me. " OK, Varun, one last chance and if not, she will be dead." said Mr.Green.      Dad's eyes were wet but still, he smiled proudly and said" have a shot."    What is he telling him to kill me? No way I won't die like this. I was begging him. Mr. Green took the remote and again pressed the button, sending that high-voltage current inside my body. I was vibrating. No words could come out, my tears dried up, again burning and vibrating. Those insects were also affected by it as they started falling one by one off me.  Suddenly, it stopped.     " Kim breathe in, relax, nothing can turn my girl down. OK."    I could hear him shout again and again. I was losing my senses. Mr. Green removed a knife and placed it near my neck. " I am sorry. Your daddy doesn't want you to live."    My mouth was dry but still, I managed to speak" listen please stop. Don't kill me I..I.I assure you he will tell you. Whatever you want, just give us some time, please. Last chance, please... I don't wanna die. Please give me a chance to save it."   Suddenly, a man went inside and said "We need to go. The Boss is badly injured. He needs you."  He was terrified. He left me and ordered his man to get the chopper ready. He gestured to his men to make preparations. They left.  He again turned to face me and yelled" One chance. After I return, you will either get my answers or else die."  He furiously turned, which made him hit the bucket and lose balance and he fell on the floor. Uncle snorts. He gave him a deadly glare and left. " Dad, this is not a joke. Don't punish me, please. It's really very painful." I cried. " Kim. Look, he didn't kill you because he didn't want to, he was just trying to scare you." said Dad. "So for what you are waiting aah? Why should I suffer because of your work? I don't care. Just get one thing dad I will die for anything but never for your Nation." The hatred once again rises in my chest. " You are alive, Kim." said Dad. " Please, dad, I know it hurts you but I cannot bare it. That th...they..those insects were worse than anything." Now it was hard to control my feelings. I started crying like a kid. Uncle knew that I was losing my patience and would split anything. " Kim, have some patience. I am trying, you will be free soon...and by the way, I don't want my princess to celebrate her 21st birthday like this." He said with a smile. "Yes, right. Dad, this time it will be my first birthday with everyone, especially you, uncle for the first time!" I got excited thinking about my whole family under one roof. They were never present just because they were busy serving their country. " This will be perfect. We will just get out of here and then party! I am so happy this time you are not in some stupid place serving your hopeless nation." The moment I split this again both faces turned red. " Kim one more word against it and then better be ready for your gift." Again threatening. " What?!? Can't you see my happiness? Mom will be so happy, but yes, why will you be happy for her? The whole time you cared was to serve your country. I wish you at least should have attempted to take care of her." I said bitterly. He was already fed up with me, but I still wanted him to show the reality and express my anger. Getting electrocuted made me bold. " I wish that she never loved you. At least she might have someone better than you. You never loved her. You always loved your country! After getting rid of this, I just hope that they get whatever they want and cast down your nation." He shouted" enough Kim. You have no right to say all this. Your mother knew about my profession. I don't need to prove to you how much I love her." Suddenly we heard a cracking voice. It was my uncle who removed his hands. I was surprised. "How?" " your Mr. Green forgot his knife over here." He quickly stood up and released my dad as well. He moved towards me but dad stopped him. "Leave her. She's staying here." Dad said with an emotionless face. What?! "Shut up Varun. Let me release her." Dad quickly opened the door and checked everything out. " It's not that hard to get out of here. What are you doing Arav let her stay here. She is one of them. She wanted to destroy our country. It's her place." He ignored dad and was releasing me. " if you dare to take her with us, I assure you Arav I will shoot her. Let her live her last days with her people." said dad. He pulled Arav back and tied me even tighter than he had been. "Stop kidding dad, what are you doing? Aah, it hurts. Fine, I got my lesson, I won't say s**t about your country." " Kim, you begged for this. You don't need soldiers to protect a civilian like you. It's time you understand what it takes to live your life, like the next moment you might die." said Dad. "No dad, please take me. I am your only child." I started crying and begging him. I heard that he has killed people who speak ill of his nation, but I never thought he did that. "Listen to me dad. I swear that I won't speak anything against your country. " He wickedly smiled and said" Happy birthday Kim, enjoy your new world. It's a gift from your dad to you. At least this time I managed to gift you something dear to you." My heart rate increased rapidly. " Dad...dad....please forgive me..a...at.. at least think of mom, she cannot live without me. What will you say to her??" He smirked and said," I will tell her that your brave daughter fought but they killed her." " Varun, you know she won't believe this. I cannot let my girl stay here." " you know me better than anyone and let her face reality. Trust me Arav, she is more than what she pretends. TRUST ME, I KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR MY DAUGHTER." said Dad. "I won't dad, I won't. Don't do this please, please take me." He put my uncle at gunpoint. This can't be true. I kept calling out to my dad. I screamed and screamed. He took off with my uncle. I was still shouting" Dad please if you ever loved her, don't leave me here. They will kill me. Arav uncle..." I was continuously crying and I didn't realize when I lost consciousness. ****** I could hear someone shouting as I was slowly gaining consciousness. Someone splashed water on my face. As my visibility became clear, I saw those same wild green eyes staring at me angrily. " I told you to get my answers. " He shouted sending a shivering sensation through my body. " Now get ready to die." He commanded," release her and get out of here." They did so and went. He lifted me up and fiercely banged me on a wall. He leaned close to me. His eyes turned dark green behind his long curly black hair. He whispered slowly"It would have been more pleasant to kill you on my bed but you forced me. So be it here." His words started ringing in my mind which made me insane. I pushed him away but he was strong. He retorted back, grabbed my arm and threw me on the floor. I could hear his footsteps coming toward me. I quickly got up, lifted the chair beside me and with all my power smashed it right on his face. He fell. Suddenly my vision got blurred and I too fell to the ground. ******* Author's P.O.V " I warned you about her. How can you jump on her like this Sam?" " don't you think, you should not lecture me? I am already injured. I cannot show my face to anyone." argued Sam. " Don't forget whose daughter she is." A man came inside the room and said" boss there are no traces of the two." "I want her dead brother." He replied," don't worry I will personally handle her." The man spoke in the middle" boss I think, instead of killing her we can sell her at a good price." " Not a bad idea but it's not that easy. We cannot let this killer machine be set free. She is here for a motive. Let me handle her personally. For right now I have some other important work. Till then let her be locked in that room."   " Wake up. Wake up, miss." Kiara slowly got back to her senses. She saw a man beside her. He gave her water. Kiara quickly took it and gulped it down. It was ecstasy to her. He asked," why are you here?" " My dad left me here." said Kiara. He exclaimed " What? !! You are Varun's daughter. Yes, I remember you. He showed me your photo, but why did he leave you here?" " Who are you? And how do you know him?" He replied" I worked under him. I am on a mission here but I wasn't told that I had to accompany you." " I am not here to accompany you, mister. He left me here because I misbehaved." I eyed the muscular guy up and down. He laughed and said" Don't you believe me? OK, I have to prove to you that I am a soldier." "Listen to me. I am not here for any mission. I told you the truth. If you respect your senior, then please let me out of here. Otherwise, they will kill me." said Kiara. " It's not that easy, mam. It took me two years to get into this and because of you, I cannot risk my job. Just say the code word and I will trust you that you are here to help me." "I am not what you are thinking. I promise I won't be a burden. Just let me out of this building, rest all I will manage." begged Kiara. He eyed me up and down while giving me some serious thought. Looks like I have to make a deal with him. I eyed him once again. Dark hair, silver eyes, strong arms, and six-pack abbs hiding behind his t-shirt. Come on Kiara, time to hit rock bottom for your self-respect.
