If you don't want to get married, at least help me have a child with the man I love,” I said, forcing my tone to remain calm. He sighed, then closed his laptop. “I respect your wishes. We can do it medically, without... complications,” she said in a tone that seemed to want to keep her distance. It makes more sense than any other move and do it quickly.” Rora looked at him, trying to find something on her face-enthusiasm, happiness, whatever-but all I found was a flat calm. I didn't know whether to be grateful or disappointed. The next day, Rora called one of the best fertility clinics in New York and scheduled our first consultation.
