Chapter 2- The kiss

I was having a bad day today and I decided to go the Night grove bar to unwind and have a couple of drinks to clear my head.Normally,I’d go straight home to relax after a bad day and ask Greta to make something nice for dinner,but I didn’t feel like going home right now,so I asked my driver to take me to the closest bar and he did.

When we got to the bar,I went inside and I heard a voice call my name.I turned around and saw that it was Kenzo,a business associate and also a huge talker and I wasn’t in the talking mood today.I plastered a smile on face and walked over to where he was standing.

“Cassian my man,fancy seeing you here today.You are always at home brooding”he said

“I’m having kind of a s**t day today and I needed a couple of drinks to clear my head before I go home”I said

We continued talking when I felt someone bump into me,I turned around to look at the person already feeling irritated and it was a woman,she was breathtakingly beautiful with long black hair close to her waist line and blue eyes like the ocean that would make any man want to drown in them,My wolf growled clearly unhappy with the thought of any man close to her.

She was definitely human because I couldn’t smell a wolf scent on her.There were a lot of werewolves here in LA and I was their king but we’ve been living among humans for the past century and we’ve kept our identity very hidden.

We gathered in a secluded land I personally bought and fenced once a year every full moon to pay homage to the goddess and shift into our wolf forms.I always made sure it was heavily guarded and on the outskirts of the city where humans wouldn’t wander into.

“God,you are beautiful”I heard her say

I laughed.She probably wasn’t planning to say that out loud.

“I’m s-sorry,I wasn’t paying any attention and now I’ve ruined your suit”she stuttered

“Well I’d consider forgiving you,if you’d tell me your name and allow me get you another drink”i said

She smiled.

Damn,she has dimples too.I’m a goner.

“Chantel peters”she blushed

“That’s such a pretty name,let’s head over to the bar so I can get you another drink”i said.

I said my goodbyes to kenzo,glad I didn’t have to continue my conversation with him anymore.

We headed over to the bar and I could see that all the men were staring at her,even the bartender was struggling to keep his eyes off her and I wanted to scratch his eyes out.

I didn’t know why I was feeling this way,I’ve had a lot of women in my life,but there was something about her that made my wolf and I restless.I shouldn’t be feeling this possessive over a women I just met but I couldn’t help it.

“I’ll take another Bloody Mary please”she said to the bartender.

“Rough day huh??”i asked

“Yea”she sighed

“Today is my birthday,and I just found out my boyfriend of three years has been cheating on me with a friend,I feel like s**t”she said

She looked really sad and I could tell that she was on the verge of breaking down and I knew I needed to take her out of here.

“You want to get out of here??” I asked

“Where would we go too??”

“I own a penthouse very close to this place and we can go there so you can change into something better and we can continue this conversation there”i said hoping she’d agree to come with me,I didn’t want to let her go just yet.

She was biting her lips,probably thinking about my offer.I wanted to be the one biting those lips so bad.

“You are not a kidnapper or a weirdo that lures sad girls into their apartment to murder them??”she asked in a serious tone

I laughed.She was so cute.

“No I’m not,trust me mon tresor.I would never hurt you”i said.

“Okay then,let’s go”

She downed her remaining drink and I guided her out of the bar.

We got to where my limo was packed and her eyes widened in shock.

“You have a limo,who are you??”she exclaimed

I was struggling not to laugh.I was grateful I didn’t step out with my guards today,it’d have definitely overwhelmed her.

I opened the door for her and she got in.She kept on looking at the interior of the car in amazement and the look of awe on her face made me want to just lean in and kiss her.

“I’ve never been in a limo before.Elaine wasn’t lying when she said the only people that came here were rich people ”she said

“Who is Elaine”i asked

“My best friend,I’ve been trying to reach her since I found out about Christian and Becca and her line hasn’t been going through.”She’s probably wasted and passed out on her kitchen floor”

I could see that her mood had dampened and it was probably because she was thinking of that her good for nothing boyfriend.if Chantel was mine,I’d never let her go.

I placed my hand on hers and she looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes.

“I’ll never let any man hurt you again”i said.And deep down I meant it.I never made promises I couldn’t keep.

Her breath hitched and she started biting her lips in that cute way she does when she’s thinking of something.

My wolf completely takes over and I lean in and kiss her.
