CHAPTER 1: LEAVING THE FAMILY
"This is a hundred million, Uncle has already
done his best to help you."
Aurielle glanced at the bank card that
Robinson had tossed on the table top and she
looked up with a cold gaze.
"No need for that. Thanks Uncle," she said
indifferently as she sat down on the chair.
"I can take care of myself and my matters,
you don't need to worry about me, Just take
Amaya with you." Aurielle replied.
Robinson sneered disdainfully, "You'll be able
to take care of yourself? How about Asher?
Why would he even follow you someone that
hasn't graduated from high school? To do
child labour and beg?"
What an embarrassment to the family.
Aurielle gave a wry, enigmatic smile, her eyes
curved slightly, "Money? I've got some money,
You can keep this bunch for Amaya."
Robinson glanced at his niece who had such
an outstanding appearance but carried
herself
like a bad person. From a young age all her
cousins steered far away from her since she'd
talk with her fists sometimes.
Her relationship with the family was so so
nobody really liked her, since she was driving
herself away it'd be great for the family and
his career.
His sister and husband had tragically died,
leaving the three children with no guardian.
And it was a critical time for his promotion in
the political arena.
Taking Aurielle and Asher would do him no
good. Asher had also been causing trouble
since a young age, skipping school and
beating his playmates. If he brought them
back and they caused trouble, his future
prospects would be ruined.
Among his sister's children, Amaya was the
most sensible one, she was smart and had
his sister's good looks as well.
She was beautiful and well loved by others, if
not his sister would not have left all their
wealth in her hands. Bringing Amaya with him
will be his way of showing gratitude to his
sister.
"Good luck! on your own!" he said coldly.
Aurielle glanced at him and replied cooly, "I
already have enough luck, I don't need your
half hearted wishes!" she then stood up and
walked calmly through the door.
Amaya glanced at her as she slopped down
the stairs, " Sister, though Mom and Dad gave
me the house, you and Asher can come and
stay here I don't mind". she said with a smile.
"No need!" Aurielle smiled slightly and raised
her hand to look at the watch on her wrist.
It was time to pick Asher from school. She
calmly took out the car keys to her old Jeep,
sat in and drove away without any second
thoughts.
"She'll definitely come back to you seeking
refuge," Robinson said seething with rage for
being dismissed by a younger member in the
family, " You don't have to interact with such
people in the future again, they can only look
up to you."
Amaya didn't respond, she turned to look in
the direction that Aurielle had left in with
narrowed eyes.
Aurielle didn't mind what her so called Uncle
and younger sister thought because to her
they never mattered in her life, she could still
live with or without them.
Though without them it was better.
And she promised herself to live a better life
now that she had left that family, she had to
prosper to prove them wrong.
She hummed a tune while she drove to pick
her brother from school.
