“I’ll escort you down the mountain” Casey stated with finality “I don’t trust Kane not to try something and I would like to meet this mate of yours for myself” he said, lacing the word mate with such sarcasm and venom I wonder how he hadn’t poisoned himself just saying the word.
“That’s fine” there was no real point in arguing with him, I could tell by the determined look in his eyes, that this wasn’t up for discussion “But don’t say a word about the mate issue. If this is just one big trick, I don’t want to alert him. I’d rather catch him with his guard down.” The rogue Alpha smiled, pleased “That’s my girl” he patted my head approvingly “lull your prey into a false sense of security, then strike while their guard is down”
