I lay in bed, wide awake from yet another restless night, dressed and ready for Dominic's arrival. Even now, with my eyes wide open I could still hear the woman’s accusing voice tainting the silence in the room, cursing me to an early grave. The quieter my outside environment was, the louder her cursing would grow. I brought my balled up fists to my eyes, digging my palms into them in frustration, groaning under the stress of her relentless assault.
Unable to find peace in the silent room, I planted my feet on the cold ground, ready to storm out and find Dominic myself, rather than wait here for him. Just as I finish tying up my boots a loud knocking resonates through my room. I jump up, ready to leave this prison of a room, even if it meant working alongside Dominic.
