Mrs Imozac POV Everyone start packing...we leave in two days. Those words rang in my head. I can't believe him! first he made us stay here, now this? I have a really bad feeling about going home and no this is not me being paranoid. when those words left his mouth I could not help but fall apart. My face fell faster than I could cover up and I know he was well aware because it took me solid ten seconds to get myself together. I did not want to come here in the first place but now that I have found somewhere away from the judgmental people and closer to Ezi he wants to just drag me out? when we first got here these folks creeped the living being out of me, I would hear screaming and they would not react or be bothered in the slightest claiming it was "normal", Guess what...it is not normal for people to scream for no reason. I even over heard some old women speaking about a man from the east of the country who came to visit the chief's family to explain that he wanted his daughter's hand in marriage... Now I know what you're thinking-no!I did not plan to evesdrop... I just overheard while I was farming... Hey don't jump into conclusions saying there's no big deal about it, that's just old hags gossiping because I am not done yet. now the problem was that they said they where going to eat him to punish the girl for going against their wishes and bringing home someone from the east side of the country as a potential husband! How barbaric! I came home panicking and complaining but Imozac just shoved it off like it was nothing telling me: " look I went to seek permission from the king to reside here for a while and we are highly welcomed seeing as we all are from the south of the country tho different and far apart otherwise..." otherwise what Imozac? :" otherwise they wouldn't have let us stay in the first place" . I knew deep in my gut that he changed his words and he actually meant that we would have been eaten already so that really sickened me. I definitely couldn’t sleep properly for months! I have always been a submissive wife but maybe it is high time I give him a hard time because I am going nowhere! Not “home”, how about the country's border or something... ANYWHERE but home. After we got married I never wanted to stay home...it was my ticket to leave permanently and although I did not want to go too far or TRAVEL FROM PLACE TO PLACE like I am now, I still took it. what does he know about moving! all he does is pick a location and get money but I do all the work, arranging plus organizing, cleaning and wrapping. It is no easy bargain, then when we arrive it's a whole week of mommy where did you put this? mommy where did you drop that? sweetheart have you seen this? honey did you grab that? only Benson assists me well enough sometimes, my sweet sweet boy. This time I simply refuse to budge no matter what he says because this is totally not fair, unacceptable and highly so unlike him to make final decisions about the whole family on his own.i mean...he has never done this. My husband talks to me about the littlest things...which gets me wondering what could he be hiding? IMOZAC POV When she stormed out like that I knew we would have a disagreement for the first time in a really long while I sighed and walked sluggish to our bedroom dreading the events yet to unfold if I make one more wrong statement and trying to think of ways to lighten things but my mind kept giving me all the wrong scenario and how things could get even worse. I'm going to have to avoid all these huddles My wife is an amazing woman, a true gift from God and more often than none I find myself wondering if she where some kind of angel who feel in love with me and came to Earth because she was always so perfect with the right answers, perfect opinions ,good judgments and excellent reasoning but sometimes (times like these which comes once in a blood moon I see that she is human) when her anger goes sky high, it Is never good . I brought her 393kilometers from home against her desires and now out of the blue ...(like literally) I'm asking her to go back on such short notice she doesn’t like it at home one bit!. she would be anywhere but home. I wanted to show her now more than ever that it was all In her head, that home is fun and comforting especially since she has the kids I'm sure she would relax more one thing I am worried about is the very lengthy drive back home and the money for the transportation to begin with. I'm standing outside our room and I can her grumbling on the other side. I don't need to see her before I know she's fuming. she would probably throw the box at me but I need her to calm down.Seeing my well behaved woman like this made me tense a bit. Headaches are no fun people, especially when they come due to anxiety and frustration. I am stuck... what do I do now? honestly I don't want to get her more upset but better is (she upset and well)than happy here and near danger. okay, deep breaths... no hesitation just go in there she is your wife not the creature. so with that I opened the door and I felt her anger rolling off in waves This is going to be even harder than I thought Benson Mom and Dad barely ever disagree one person always let's things slide for peace to reign they are quick to forgive never take their problems outside and never argue in front of us well I and my brother i.e Today is going to be like last night's storm with the only difference being that it's happening in our house not outside. Blake already stormed out,he... preferred other places to this one but he is an extrovert so everyone loved him and he eventually didn't mind but then after building a "kingdom" here dad is asking him to give it all up without a reason? Dad did seem off to me, I could say nervous and he was holding something I didn't quite see well. Maybe it's still in the net? I began walking towards the exit and when I opened the door I saw Blake with a statue in his hand what's that it's nicely carved but it's a bit creepy, "it's covered in grime Benson, try to keep up" he said and shoved me a bit I just laughed it off Blake Something is up with Dad.we always travel around even though we are not normads but these people, they love me. I have fans and followers for crying out loud but Dad doesn't think it's worth...well... anything. Here's what I think old pops, with people by your side you would easily go places, attain heights and someday I want to have a title so I need to have a good record. Benson's my best bud ,he is reserved but we get along so well and he understands me, barely takes offence and support my moves as long as it doesn't violate his “principles” yup! that's my brother all goody goody even behind closed doors ah sure he just turned twelve and I'm fifteen, he's a very nice character to be with not to mention quite mature just like me I think the only difference between I and my brother is forty percent on our mindset. I want fame, the name, the money and he? ha he's just there , simple Too simple at this rate I wonder if I would have to help him find a nice woman someday my mind comes back to the statue ... I've never seen anything like it before so how did dad go fishing and come back with a statue? I was about to ask Benson's opinion when we heard a glass break what the... that's new and definitely not good! Mr and Mrs Imozac pov I can't stand my husband right now and I am in no mood to talk. all I want is for him to leave me alone but he's not understanding that fact I'm trying to reason with her but she just wouldn't listen to me, perhaps it's that time of the month because she is usually a good listener I've tried everything and she still would bludge so I'm done being Mr nice guy I hold her forearms and shake her shouting "snap out of it pera! the sooner we get this done the better" My woman was naturally gifted with strength so she yanked herself out of my grip but collided with the table behind her, knocking the glass down Oh my goodness, pera are you okay? " yes I'm fine!". she snapped and I didn't like the way those words rolled off her lips we both started picking up the glasses when we heard someone bang at the door MOM! DAD WHAT'S GOING ON? MOM ARE YOU ALRIGHT? Oh no, the kids... what are they thinking right now I turn to look at the door then back at Pera we're ok kids she shouted but Benson wasn't buying it as much as we try not too see these things, everyone knows that Benson is more attached to his mother and Blake to me and as you already guessed he was the one who asked the second question earlier open up please, we need to talk to you I smirked... Benson may be young but he knows his way around situations. The kid would cook up a whole topic to talk about now. "Jesus Benson stop worrying you act like a kid sometimes” “well shocking news;that is what I am" he replied I couldn't help but laugh and i noticed that pera did too but as discreetly as possible. our boys are like this sometimes and it's cute. I opened the door to two boys, each at a stance. "Hold your horses young men, go find a ring and don't reck this place practicing your cat fight" Pera hit me hard on the chest and a grand laugher erupted this time. what happened? came our little boy's less worried voice after seeing that we were indeed okay "well sweetheart I do not know why you got so worried because you heard a glass break... it shouldn't be a new sound seeing as you break the most glasses in this house" And for just a second I saw a sly smile on her lips that left as quickly as it came. Damn she's so good with handling anything, keeps her cool, finds a way through and remain hot while doing it. this Is one of the many reasons why I love this woman to pieces. "That was before mum… and you know it, I'm more careful now" At this moment I wanted to pull Benson's card against him by asking what he wanted to talk about but pera seems to have eased a little and i didn't want to soil that so i just observed the mother and son quietly Blake seems to be looking at me weird tho so I look him dead in the eye to see just how much confidence he has . To my pleasant surprise he doesn't break it but his face doesn't have that questioning look anymore Anything up buddy? He hesitates for a while but after a quick look at Benson who nods at him he looks back at me and I can see determination in his eyes wow, the way they give themselves courage is simply amazing Actually dad we wanted to talk to you about the statue I paled oh God I forgot to take that damn thing inside and now they've seen it now even Pera was looking at me weird statue? she asked while getting into position so she could be eye to eye with Benson who is now talkative "yes mummy, it was nicely carved but looks odd and old" Imozac? she said turning to face me with one eyebrow well lifted. she has always been good at making faces and right now she looks like a detective. At this junction i have to tell them something and it would be most appealing to tell them the truth but I don't what them thinking their dad has gone crazy so I guess I'll tell them some of the happenings of this morning After taking a deep breath i started Well this morning i helped someone and they gave it to me as a thank you There we go l, I didn't lie... i guess "They "gave you yeah just like that Imozac oh come on Pera! you're sounding like you don't know these people Exactly Imozac, I do know these people and they don't give anything other than food just to show off even Pera you read too much into things but who am I to complain that is how you women are engineered correction IMO , that is how the world made us become ! well I'm not the world now am I? you are MY world THEN IM TELLING YOU TO TRUST ME AND TRAVEL ONE LAST TIME This time she took a deep breath children go start packing Pera truned to me after they left and open the door making a gesture for me to head inside. once I entered she moved in quickly after me then cleared her throat. IMO something definitely happened this morning and we are no longer welcomed here right? Shock consumed me but then again, that's my wife I looked at her but couldn't make up any words I didn't want her to freak out so I just nodded Then you should have said something, you know i would understand and all this drama wouldn't have happened well she admitted that what happened earlier was drama at least I'm sorry i gave you a hard time and only thought about myself. she reached out to touch the sides of my face and continued next time though don't act so odd without giving me any reason okay? ok. was the only thing i could say and hug her tightly she truly is amazing The rest of the day goes by so fast and night arrives sooner than later I managed to convince my darling wife to let the kids and I go to a bonfire not too far from home Later on tho she joins us only to give me bizarre news I was lying on the sand soaking up the festive feeling of dance, music, laughter and merrymaking in general when I felt a hand on my chest. Out of instinct I grabbed the hand tight and pulled the person down before I could even think what I was doing through. The reflex action was so simultaneous and you won't blame me because if you live in a place full of insecurities and weird people you would be on high alert as to every movement around you for fear of your own life and that was exactly what happened. Do you know this feeling one gets when in the middle of doing something you realise the truth or what you’re suppose to do and try halting but the action doesn't stop so you have to correct what you've already done or said after even though you knew you were supposed to stop doing it Midway but you didn't due to the fact that everything happened too fast to stop Midway?yeah that is exactly what just happened. when I held the person's wrist I felt that it was small so it definitely belongs to a female and my brain put one and one together to know that the only female with the right and gut to put her hand on my chest like that was my loving wife but I was way too fast with the formal action to stop the next reaction so now I have to apologize for throwing her in the sand like that and honestly hope that she hasn't sprained her wrist? "oh heavens pera baby are you ok honey I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hurt you, you know how it is around here" I say to her while still a little panicked and frantically searching for any abnormalities To my surprise though she had a smile on her face. huh... isn't she just the weirdest what? I asked...my eyes accessing every inch of her face to try and get something out of her expression but I am still confused as to why she should be smiling in this situation. "well it's good to know that my kids are safe with their father who is apparently still a warrior at his age and damn are you still very strong" At this point I am dying of embarrassment. how could she? in this kind of situation how could she make a joke out of this and see everything so leniently? she's really looking at it from that angle? I didn't even know when I started laughing and shaking my head .This is all too much happening in one day. All I want now is rest and thankfully she's by my side now "IMO something happened, call me crazy but the chicks doubled" Great! there goes the rest and perfect evening I now seek . Baby, it would not be the first time such is happening. perhaps some other hen booked a room in the pen for tonight through illegal means "And the plantains?" what about them? I asked because now I'm getting really irritated here I am trying to rest and she's talking about plantains does she really want to carry that much goods back home or who was told her now that we don't have plantains back at home better ones even still "they doubled IMO they doubled" "wait what?" you can't be serious I said sitting up to face her once again she just shakes her head on my God she is serious she's not bluffing at all then it hit me That water thing said all that is mine would double, could this really be it . It's all true then? I was lost in thoughts when she snapped her fingers in front of me looking all worried and giving me the "you know something face" Pera dear...how about we check this out tomorrow when it's bright so it wouldn't be a trick of the night or something It's actually trick of the light IMO so maybe the daytime would fool us oh pera... i said in my head while shaking it and chuckling she just smiled apparently that was her aim she wanted to lighten the mood she is amazing THE VERY NEXT MORNING I'm staring at everything in awe this is not possible is someone just playing games with us??? but no one knows us that well so... why are there suddenly two of everything this is against all I've learned plants don't just double overnight and the eggs that where brought in for breakfast today had two yolks in them chickens have that many twins now? you have got to be messing with my head mermaid lady I need to find a way to talk to her again or is this all in our heads are we under a curse or something so we see everything as we do right now. later in the day though two women came to visit they where very odd but honestly I didn't care or mind in anyway UNTIL they asked "when do you plan to leave" it was at that moment I blew a fuse excuse me? how do you even know that? I was about to storm towards them when pera rushed from the kitchen and stopped me before I could make it to the living room A hand on my chest and the other on my wrist I dare to step forward with this anger and she applies pressure so I'm forced to calm down. " no! not now" she leans in and whispers "deep breaths" I closed my eyes and complied but I really need answers then I really need to kick em out them old hags are creepy enough now they're messing with our private life? not gonna happen! okay, maybe it already happened but I'm not going to let it continue end of discussion "in two weeks" pera replied I was taken aback by her words so I just kept staring as she slightly tilted her head. I know she has one eye on me at all times so she can see the look on my face she's probably trying to paint a bold face first before she looks at me again we have had situations in the past where she ended up laughing out loud and even snorting because of how hard she tried to keep it in. she takes a quick full glance at me blinks slowly before turning her attention back to them "why do you ask? and how do you know? I don't remember telling anyone if gossip is the answer I'm looking at here" At this point I am trying to stop my volcano of laughter from erupting she feels the vibration in my chest and looks at me trying so hard not to smile but it keeps getting wider by the second so she just let it free I'm Shaking my head right now, this woman she has her ways I was about to whisper the words "nice one" in her ear when one of those godforsaken humans in my living area replied "The walls have ears Mrs IMO" The other one completes the sentence by adding "do not underestimate that" Do they have spies now? They are not straight with their words as if pera read my mind she takes my hand and walk with me towards the living room before replying "you speak in riddles" "i am sure you know that not everyone would understand" I laughed underneath my breath and she heard it so she gave me a tight squeeze in order to remind me not to snort I have to try because most times I can't help it holding back a laughter is hard, difficult even the first old lady said "I'm sure you understand, so as long as you do we do not have a problem" then the other one added "we must be on our way now" boy am I overjoyed to hear that I could not be more happy to be far away from them Benson please show them the exit, I called out to my little boy But then the woman said and I quote "I am sure we can find our way... this is not the palace" even better old hag, guess what I don't want my son around you for one bit, was all I wanted to say. I knew that pera would kill me if I did tho and I absolutely did not want to be a bad influence on my son's teaching them to disrespect old people "Fine then" was all I decided to say after the battle of word choice Do have a nice day...I concluded although that was just for formality After they left I started to to pace around the living room trying to get myself together to no avail so I gave in and began to yell who the hell are they they think that they can just walk in and throw threats in a subtle way and we would be so dump not to notice or understand "I'm pretty sure they are well aware that we get the gist and that is the whole point...they want us to leave" imo does the incident have something to do with them? No Pera...and I don't think they should even know anything about it "well that's where you are wrong" came a reply from the doorway Ezi!!! pera hurriedly ran over to hug her friend Don't you think the way you made an entrance was creepy? and besides it's rude to just stand there "oh please Imo give her a break" I honestly don't know how you two became friends Ezi chose to dig deep and trouble me with her words "well Mr IMO we are females with things in common including preference circumstances and predicaments" she smirked at pera then they both start laughing Argh! women ... the weirdest of all creatures and then my brain picked a signal wait did you just call me a problem? Ezi decided to play dumb this time around, throwing everything she started off her "last time I checked I never made use of any such words ...am I wrong pera dear..?" I instantly looked at my wife pera just laughed and shakes her head while raising her hands in the air to show that she was neutral about the whole thing cheap exit baby you always do this... never wanting to take anybody's side . By now the boys are outside attending to all that their mother had instructed them to tend to. Ezi now wears a very serious face She looks at me then at pera before speaking " there is a problem people you see the thing is that people really do not like you guys all of a sudden and it is worries me...they want you gone" Pera stiffens and I know she hasn't told her friend yet " ...ummm... IMO?" No way am I getting stuck in the middle of what ever would transpire here well she is your friend so you have to tell her yourself we watched pera take a deep breath and look at Ezi who is already wearing a worried...or should I say tensed expression she finally speaks "you don't have to worry about them not liking us Ezi ... because we are leaving" Now Ezi is stunned "leaving? no.. how, why? and you didn't think to tell me?" okay!the way I see it, I can butt in now It was a sudden decision Ezi, pera didn't have much time Ezi snaps at me "I was talking to her!" wow, calm down tiger alright then ! I said with my hands in the air let's not be rude Pera goes on to explain things "Ezi it all happened yesterday and the decision was made last night" you know it hasn't really been safe here and having them on our necks is not the best choice "where would you go then?". Ezi’s voice sounded broken "home" was the only word my mate said before she started crying silently I did the only thing a man should do for his better half_ pul her into my arms so she could cry freely while I draw circles on her back to calm her down when the atmosphere was less tensed I left them to conclude their conversation in private when I came back in , walking up the stairs (half way through) I heard "sorry" it was Ezi wow she apologized? I turned to look at her "I'm sorry if the way I speak offends you but please know that most times I am being sarcastic , I don't want you to leave with a bad image of me" I was a bit surprised hearing her talk so seriously and sincerely .In all honesty I had nothing against her , I knew very well that she was just putting humor in pera's life even if it meant throwing invisible knives at me and I was cool with it because it makes my mate laugh . it's all good Ezi, trust me I know she smiled and although it was a sad smile i could Sense that she was happy well, I should go get the kids so we all can help you pack in time. well she has always been thoughtful when we first moved in she brought us cleaning supplies thank you Ezi, you're a good friend The rest of the day went by swiftly. all we did was pack up ,clean, listen to music and tell stories while we where at it. At one point my baby girl thought her friend how to make some of our native dishes and versa . The bouquet was delectable I must say it was a bustle of colour and flavours... it was nothing like the food they serve in some restaurants that look and smell nice but tastes bland ... it was so good I could eat my fingers too? Ezi's family slept over, her kids with my kids my wife and her in my room then her husband binged watched for a while before he went inside while I feel asleep on the couch . The next morning we started loading things in the truck, before noon we were done and bade farewell too... Ezi did mention that they would come visit after a while and I can't wait to see how she goes about that . now we are driving off and everyone is trying to stay strong, EVEN ME! This has been the hardest goodbye I have had to say and I am amazed because I never thought it would ever get this hard but it is. It's the people she misses and for once I can fully understand how pera feels when we move.
