Elle's POV
I walked into school with a bright smile on my face. Who wouldn't be happy after finally learning the truth about their real parents?
"Ms. Elle Cruz, go to the principal's office now," the principal announced as soon as she saw me in the hallway.
"Ah... what? Did I do something wrong, Ma'am?" I asked nervously.
"Just go inside and wait for me there," the principal replied sternly before turning around.
"Noted, Ma'am."
When I stepped inside the office, I noticed a very handsome, tall man standing near the desk.
"Good morning, Sir. Ms. Elle Cruz is here," the principal said as she walked in behind me.
"Thank you, Ma'am. Please, take a seat, Elle," the man said softly.
"Thank you po... Um, who are you, sir? What do you need from me?" I asked, looking at him curiously.
"Ms. Elle, Mr. Mat, I'll leave you two alone for a moment to check on the classrooms," the principal offered politely.
"Thank you, Ma'am," Mat nodded.
Once the principal stepped out, I turned back to him. "So... Mat? Who are you, sir? Why did you call for me?"
"Ah... I assume your Sister Karen already explained everything to you, right? She mentioned you were okay with us picking you up?" Mat asked.
"Us? Who are you, exactly? I'm sorry, but I don't know who you are," I admitted.
"I'm Matthew Marcos. The son of Imee Marcos... your older brother," Mat said with a warm, gentle smile.
My eyes went wide. "OMG... brother? I'm so sorry, I had no idea!"
"It's completely okay," Mat chuckled, shaking his head.
"Um... where is Ms. Imee?" I asked softly, my heart beating fast.
"Before I answer that... can I hug my sister first?" Mat asked gently.
"Of course, brother... Thank you for searching for me," I said, stepping forward to wrap my arms around him.
"Speaking of which, Elle... Mom is here," Mat said, pulling back with a smile.
The door opened, and a familiar voice filled the room. "Good morning! Hi, son, good morning... Oh! Elle, it's you, good morning," Imee said, walking in with her usual vibrant energy.
"So, son, where is your sister?" Imee asked, looking around the room.
Mat smiled and gently pointed at me. "Mom..."
Imee froze. Her eyes went wide as the realization hit her, tears immediately welling up. "Oh my gosh... No wonder I felt so drawn to you when we first met! It was you all along, my child... Please, let Mommy hug you. I've missed you so, so much."
I hugged her tightly, feeling tears fall down my face as well. "I'm so lucky that my mother is Imee Marcos."
"Do you want to come live with us now, sweetie?" Imee asked, gently wiping away my tears.
"Of course, Mom! I'd love to move in," I replied without hesitation.
"Did your sister Karen agree?" Imee asked thoughtfully.
"Karen told me that whatever makes me happy, she'll support it completely," I said softly.
Imee smiled through her tears, hugging me once more. "Thank you, my child... Thank you."
Imee's POV
I was on my way to the school I had visited before—the same campus Mat texted me about where Monica was currently studying.
When I arrived at the principal's office and peeked through the door, I caught sight of my son Mat hugging a young woman. My hands suddenly went cold, and a shiver ran down my spine.
I stared closer because the girl looked so familiar... It was the same student I bumped into weeks ago, the one who bore such a striking resemblance to Rod.
I still couldn't believe it. After twenty long years of searching, praying, and waiting... my daughter was right in front of me all along. I am endlessly grateful that I finally found my child.
