Chapter 9

High school chaser

High school life was not that bad for the form ones, they were full of life, and they were really energetic and wanted to explore, one of the thing they really wanted was coupling. Yes most people get their girlfriends and boyfriends when they join form one.

Class of 2005 was not different, some felt in love with their classmate while others dated boys and girls in other classes, unfortunately our girl Evana never accepted any of the many guys who were asking her to date them.

There is always that stubborn crush, who will never accept a no, but still came back after some few hours, days, weeks and ask “are you still thinking about what I told you last time?”

So Evana, guy was Mitch, he was a cool guy good looking, American height and, he almost looked Caucasian, other students called him the Mzungu (the white man). So Mitch was Evana’s crush, he really liked her, according to him she was quite, humble, smart and beautiful, and he really wanted to date her, although he had heard stories about her family he didn’t mind. However, he was frustrated when she rejected his proposal but made up his mind not to give up but to keep persisting.

Jersey was really trying her best to impress Larry after learning that he had feelings for her, yet Larry had started developing a liking to Kerry, she was all composed and didn’t mind or talked ill about her friends. Her character really impressed Larry and he hoped that she won’t accept any of the guys that were asking her out until he is sure of his feelings towards her.

“Kerry, what do you think of having a boyfriend while you are in form one?” Larry asked.

She stopped perusing her book, she was shocked, “Larry are you into me?” she asked.

“Hey came on cant we talk such topics, your my deskie I wanted to hear your opinion, it’s like everyone has a boyfriend apart from a few of you,” he expressed himself and raised an eyebrow to her

“Oh you surprised me there, but just to be clear, I cannot date anyone I don’t know,” she answered.

With an evil smile, “meaning you can date me?” he asked her. Looking annoyed “get out of my face who wants to date you!” Larry could not stop himself from laughing he really loved seen her face looking angry to him she looked more cute, and he was also contended by her answer.

Hitting his chest, in a teasing manner, “just so you know if you need a boyfriend I won’t mind,” He wicked at her.

Kerry couldn’t withstand, how cheesy he was and turned her face towards her book, but deep inside, there was a voice telling her to look at his silly face one more time.

Unknown to the two friendly besties, Jersey, saw their interaction, she had a bitter feeling down her throat. She felt like there was more to their interaction. They didn’t look like just mare desk mates it was like there was some chemistry growing between them, and that was not good for her. She needed to do something. She remembered how the class prefect, had asked her to date him but rejected him because she wanted to impress Larry, but she felt that she could use his powers to separate Kerry and Larry.

During games time Sam the class prefect was standing outside the classroom, Jersey walks towards him from behind and blindfolds him, “guess who,” she asked. Sam was surprised he never expected a girl to be too bold to pull that trick in school out in the open. Anyway Jersey had done her homework and knew that everyone was busy, “I know I said no to you, not because I don’t like you but we made a girls promise, not to date while in form one with my friends,” she lied smoothly.

“Oh! You could have told me that, you saying no to me was hurtful,” he touched his heart as an indication that it’s still hurting.

Jersey was smart, “so if I asks you to wait, until we go to form two, will it stop hurting,” she asked smiling at him. Her smile was cute, he was mesmerized by it, and he felt like time has been frozen, he wanted to live in that moment and enjoy her smile, but she called him back to reality. “Sam will you wait for me?” she asked looking at him with her puppy eyes, and no man could say no, so he agreed, and promised to wait for her.

Jersey smiled at him, and pretends like she wants to leave, after two steps she turned, “oh silly me,” and puts on a sad face, Sam is worried, “Jersey what’s wrong, is anything the matter?” he asks. Hmm….it’s just that I wanted to ask a favor from you, am not sure if you will accept to it, but I have to do it for my friend Kerry,” she was really good at coming up with lies.

“Even if we are not dating yet, just be assured I can do anything for you, he tells her.

“Okay its Kerry she wants to change sitting position, she told me, but you know, at this particular time of the term we can’t, but as a prefect you can help out and the teacher will be okay with it, you can say they talk a lot in class.”

“But they always seem fine to me, actually they do get along well,” Sam looks confused

“You don’t understand “Kerry told as that she feels like Larry, is starting to develop feelings for her as a man, and she don’t want that, so you see that is why it is important,” she told him. “She suggested I change sitting position with her, since me and Larry don’t talk, thinking of it now, if I become Larry desk mate I will be sitting behind you, so I will be closer to you,” she added.

Hearing they will be sitting that close he lost, all his reasoning, “so can we change the arrangement tomorrow?” he asked

“No you have to wait till Friday to make the announcement in the last lesson you can’t be in a rush, a good leader needs to practice patience,” and she wicked at him.

Jersey went to the field to look for her friends, she was really happy slowly but sure she will get, “her Larry,” as she always gets what she wants. Woo what a beautiful Monday
