Chapter 20“Ah fiancé,” Raff’s words stunned Jayden as Ed led her into the kitchen. Ed had opened the front door with a gentle smile that made her heart flip over in her chest, his dark hair tousled from a recent shower. Raff’s reference wiped the smile from his brother’s face and Jayden saw him struggling to mask his hurt. He ran a shaking hand through his damp hair and snatched his leather jacket from the back of a chair.
“I might go out for some fresh air,” Ed remarked. He kept his head down and avoided Jayden’s gaze. When the fingers of his left hand touched his lips, she sensed him reliving their kiss. Confusion bowed his shoulders and he fingered the smooth collar and stalled.
He’s married! Jayden made the mental correction and ground her teeth. She shot a glare of warning at Raff.
