Chapter five-Acceptance Damia’s POV Revenge The last stage of grief. I felt wet liquid and cold on my face, sending my wolf into a frenzy. “What the -“ My eyes were wide open and I was trying to clear my watery vision. “Finally you are awake. I almost thought you slept into your own death.” “What is going on?” I dried my face with my face, sat up and saw the shadow, his form now less illuminating and shiny. “I need you to get out.” “Couldn’t you at least wait for me to get up fully? I hate when my sleep is disrupted.” “Are you a Princess? If no, then I do not care.” He said swiftly and moved away from my side, a baton in his hand. I gently got up, clearing my body and removing the leaves that were stuck on my fur. “Why so many leaves?” I grunted as I picked out twigs and splinters from anybody. “Have you ever slept outside your house before or even gone haunting?” He replied from a distance, his tone very sarcastic and audacious. “No, I am a biker.” “Oh, so you are useless in the Pack.” He shrugged off his head. “Useless?” That was a trigger word for me. “Why would you call me useless just because I mentioned being a biker? I am not sure what year you lived in but right now, biker wolves are dominating fields and they are on high demand.” He clenched his jaw, i was not sure if it was a jaw because he was not in his human form but there was a highlighted bony part on his face and it was where his jaw was supposed to be. He moved closer, sitting opposite me and making eye contact with me. “So what are the roles of these Bikers?” He made weird fingers around the word. “Before I answer that question, is there a way you can maybe see your face? It is getting weird talking to a faceless shadow.” He scoffed at me. “You have to get used to it, baby girl. The only way I would have a face is if I was in my human form.” “Then morph into your human form…” “You are very dumb. You know that right?” I was taken aback by his insult and looked at him confusingly. “It won’t kill you to be a little nicer to me, you know that right?” “Guess what? I am already dead! I told you yesterday that I have no human form because I was under a curse.” “Oh! You did? It must have skipped my mind. Yesterday was a whole lot of events for me.” He stood up and started gathering some leaves, using his baton to cut branches off from trees. “I am honestly less interested in your life than you think. I am not in the mood for girl drama. I have some prey to catch.” “This is more serious than a girl drama.” “Whatever! You were saying what Bikers do in packs…?” He raised his eyebrows for answers. I humphed and rolled my eyes. I was not sure what universe Lucian came from or what exactly he was, but he was the rudest person I have ever come across and I hated him. “For starters,Bikers are the ones who form the highest rank, the Alphas. Bikers are also very important in entertainment and they even have a competition hosted for them every year.” He stared in silence, like he was calculating something. “So if you are a biker, does that also make you an Alpha?” “I am not the Alpha.” “Oh, thank goodness. I have no need to apologize about my rude behavior towards you.” “My sister is Alpha. She won the race and-“ He interrupted me rudely. “You lost the race to your sister?” He hit the hammer on the head and I felt a sharp pain in my heart. I did not reply, just my lower lip trying to subdue the tears that were about to pour out. “Your eyes look heavy, you want to start crying again?” “No.” I used the back of my hand to wipe off the residual tears. “Good for you. So when are you planning on going away from my territory?” I was slowly getting enraged. This man or ghost or shadow or whatever he was had zero emotional intelligence and it was beginning to piss me off. “Where do you want me to go? I have no home and the only people that I have trusted with my life literally all betrayed me.” He tried hugging me, but moved right through me, making me laugh. I guess my sober story finally touched him, this was his most friendly gesture. “I am sorry about whatever you went through but I feel like you would be safer anywhere but here.” I think he was trying to scare me with the calmness in his voice but I was not buying it. “Safe from what? From who?” “Me. I am not who you think I am. I have revolved through the years and I have developed a lot of terrible behaviors in my solitary life. I might bring you more pain than your family did.” “Oh, so that is what all of these are about? You are scared of hurting me.” I smirked and he gave me a long high pit head hiss. “Staying with me is dangerous. I would train you into becoming a cold hearted wolf. You might never be the same again.” I did not think twice in the reply I gave him. “That is exactly what I want. No more sweet versions of Damia. Help me bring out the evil in me.” I ran to the edge of the mountain where we were, dragging my feet and angrily letting out the loudest howl, chasing the birds of the trees and scaring away prey. I felt better and ready to let myself into Lucian’s world. I sashayed back to where he was, sitting still and lowering my voice. “Lucian, untame my wolf.”
