Chapter 1
The loud sound of porcelain smashing against the floor could be heard. Louisseena looked up from her phone and headed towards the origin of the sound. She is more curious to know which cup her mother has broken instead of being worried if she is hurt. Louisseena stared down at the broken pieces, pausing for a while. Her favourite and precious cup was on the floor in multiple pieces.
“ I TOLD YOU TO NOT TOUCH MY THINGS”, she screamed. Her mother, Lily, replies back quickly,” I don’t normally use your cup. I was only trying to pour some warm water for myself because my other cup had another drink.” Louisseena screamed again at her mother,” then you could have just used another cup on the table. There’s so many cups here yet you have to take my one and only.” Lily opens her mouth to say something but Louisseena just stormed away back to her room. She slams the door and flings herself onto her bed and holds her pillow crying.
Told her how many times to don’t ever touch my things but she doesn’t listen. Not only was she in the wrong, she never ever apologizes for it. This was the third time she has broken my favourite cup and there were also a few more different cups in between.
Louisseena was very frustrated at her mother, at herself and at everything. She hates her name, her family, her life. Why can’t I have a normal name? When she was just a small pup, she once asked how come her name has double alphabets in spelling. People was always having troubles pronouncing her name or even spelling it right. Especially her teachers and friends at pack school. Her parents told her it was a calculated name by an elder. Even though that is her given name, her parents and family members never called her that. They all called her “Nana”.
She always cringed at her parents saying her full name when they were introducing her to others. She herself would introduce herself as “Louis” for short and sometimes she would get replies like, “isn’t Louis a guy’s name?”. She hated that kind of response and made her hate her name even more. She wasn't proud of her name at all.
Her father, Leonard, was the alpha of this pack, The Raydiant Pack, until one day he lost his life against a rogue attack. A useless father she would say. After he passed on, the beta, which was her mother’s brother, took over the alpha position and led the pack. They had to move to a home far away from the main pack house.
Lily didn't fight for anything and just accepted it. She was only Luna by name and not by anything else. She never really did any duties for the pack. She was her father’s chosen mate. Or rather, her mother’s chosen mate. She told them before that she wanted to upgrade herself in her life and she chose their father for that reason. Nana’s brother, Layton who is 2 years older than her was only 14 at that time. Compared to the beta’s family whose sons were all way older, the pack didn’t object when Layton was not selected to be the upcoming Alpha.
Even after living in the same house as her mom and dad for many years, it feels like she barely knew them on a personal level. She kind of liked it that way anyway, always keeping to herself. She doesn't feel the need or a real reason to feel attached to them.
She guessed it was due to her upbringing. Lily never cared for her when she was a pup. She was thoroughly focused on her first pup, a son. An omega, Thelma was assigned and always took care of her. Thelma loved Nana like her own pup, cooking for her, bathed her, buying her toys.
As the youngest in the family, Nana was always being bullied by her brother and Thelma always shielded her, taking those beatings. She would always cry at that seeing how someone only 2 years older than her can be so mean towards an adult. Nana hated her brother so much and wished to curse him.
When Nana was out on pack grounds, seeing happy pup families, she envied them when she saw them together peacefully. There was never peace in this family. Dad was always never home, alpha duties. And when he is home, it’s always a quarrel with mom. I guess that’s what happens when you’re both chosen mates instead of the ones picked by the moon goddess. What’s the point of having a nice caring alpha to others, to the pack but never cared about his own family? Layton at 15 years old was always out screwing some omegas or spewing vulgarities at home against his own mother.
Lily was just equally useless. She said she is the best mom compared to others but all she does is just cook and clean like an omega. She never cared for her pups in any emotional kind of way or bond. I guess that’s all she can do since Leonard doesn’t seem to give her any affection. He just expected her to take care of the house while he’s out. But with 2 pups that don't show any affection towards her, she is powerless to stand up against the alpha.
