Chapter 40

The Down Under Pack was informed by Ryan that royals from their land will be visiting their pack for a meeting. He had requested that the Alpha, Beta and Gamma be present. Luna and mates too if any. 

Richard had contacted the royals in the land of the Down Under Pack. He has informed them that a werewolf had gone to mark someone else while he had already found his moon mate. While that was fine if a werewolf was to get a chosen mate rather than having a moon mate, to actually get a chosen mate while having a moon mate is unheard of. To go against the goddess' blessing is a dishonourable thing. A total insult to the sacred blessing across all land. The King of the land was furious that one of his people had done such an act. 

Richard requested permission to seek resolution in this matter on his terms since Marcus’s moon mate is his son’s new mate. Of course, he promised not to take the life of the werewolf. He just wanted free rein on this matter. The king promised him that Richard and his family could deal with Marcus in any way they wanted and he would not intervene. Meanwhile, they are welcomed to stay at his palace during the time they are here.

The flight to the airport of the new land took about 16 hours. Bruce feels a sense of relief as he sees his little mate was enjoying her time on the aeroplane as before. He was worried about her therefore he ordered 2 boxes of Japanese rice crackers for her just in case.

Loulou spent her awakening time staring out at the clouds or watching movies on the screen. Ordering different types of snacks and taking pictures of the meals. She was restless though and nothing she did could make her feel at ease. She didn’t once ask Bruce about the plan he had. Finally she decided to close her eyes and sleep. The best way to pass time is to sleep. Not before eating 5 packets of her favourite snack.

Bruce’s plan was to have Loulou stand up for herself, to give herself some validation that she can be strong too. And to do it in front of the ranked members, to reject her old moon mate. This way, the ranked members will know what Marcus had done and what he missed out on.

Arriving at the airport, the family which consisted of Richard, Meredith, Charles and Beckett headed off in a limousine towards the royal castle. Ryan was to stick with Bruce and his mate. He has to go along with them to make sure everything else is taken care of. Not only was he Bruce’s right hand man, he vowed to serve Bruce for the rest of his life and everything that Bruce cared about. Bruce was after all his sister’s saviour.

Bruce, Ryan and Loulou went to another departure hall. They needed to take a domestic flight to the land of the Down Under pack.

Loulou was following behind Bruce closely. She didn’t want to get lost in a foreign land. But this time she was way closer to him, holding onto his backpack. If Bruce could, he would like to hold her hand instead. But having her this close for now was enough for him. He knows she will feel their bond soon.

Ryan had booked themselves a suite at one of the hotels owned by the royals at the island. The suite had 3 bedrooms with king size bed. A resting room area which had a nice window view, has a jacuzzi, two chaise lounge chairs and a small round table. Bruce wanted to bring her more comfort as she prepares herself for what is to come. They were going to the Down Under pack the next day.

Loulou woke up in the middle of the night naturally due to a full bladder. She sees a bald head on her bed again. She sighs. She knows Bruce is probably really worried about her but he needn’t sleep beside her like that in an uncomfortable manner.

After her quick visit to the bathroom, Bruce was still sitting on the floor fast asleep with his head laid on the bed. Not wanting to wake him nor does she have the strength to carry him, Loulou whispers hoping the big guy would hear it. 

“Wayne. Wayne, are you there?”

“Wayne, could you come up?” Loulou whisper again. This time, she can see that Bruce’s ears are twitching and he soon lifted his head up looking at her with his eyes glowing. Loulou smiles at him, lifted her covers and patted the bed space beside her. After Wayne has climbed into bed with her, she tucked him in.

“Good boy”, Loulou said, praising the big guy. “Now let’s sleep. Bruce must be really tired. Please thank him for me, all that he has done for me, a lowly werewolf.”

Wayne whimpers before closing his eyes and snuggling his face onto the pillow. Loulou caresses his head. This was the first time she touched Bruce’s bald head. Then she took the other pillow and fell back asleep soon too.

Bruce woke up with a good night’s sleep. Wayne was telling him how his little mate asked him to come onto the bed to rest. He’s happy that Loulou cares about his well being. He stares at his mate who is still fast asleep, facing towards him. He carefully caress her head and planted a small kiss.

He got up and went out of her room. He met Ryan in the living room area. He was having his morning cup of coffee and looking through some documents. Bruce sat down with him.

Ryan put down his document and greeted Bruce , “ I’m glad we are finally going to untangle this. I know how much rejection can be.” somewhat referring to his past. 

Ryan has an elder sister who took care of him a lot when they were younger. Their parents were lycans who lived and worked in the lycan kingdom. They weren’t royalty but soon his sister found her moon mate who was a royalty. The royal rejected her due to her not being a royal. She was hospitalised due to the rejection’s pain. Ryan thought that his sister would get the treatment she needed and get better in the hospital. He never thought enough to look after her closely. One night, she couldn’t bear the pain anymore and ran up to the rooftop trying to end her life.

Bruce was in the very same hospital for other reasons and the same night, coincidentally he was on the rooftop. That was when he saved Ryan’s sister's life. Ryan vowed to protect Bruce for the rest of his life, just like he had protected his sister. Since then, his sister has found her second chance mate and have two cute little pups now. 

Bruce nodded at Ryan and let out a deep breath. He called room service for breakfast and soon they will need to get themselves ready to travel to the Down Under Pack.
