Chapter 16“Are you happy now, Father?” I hear a woman ask through the haze of excruciating pain steamrolling over my body. “Sure, Hel,” I reply. I feel my face contorting with pain and that makes everything down to my toes cringe with tension. “How about you, Hel? Are you happy?” She slaps me. That’s enough to make me open my eyes and sit up. I realize with this weightless kind of sensation that I have no body. No, it’s probably lying on the floor in my house. I have choked and died on that damn snake venom, so heinously filled into my refrigerator’s waterlines. It also makes me understand why I’m in such pain and it’s the same reason water spills all over the place when released from its container. The soul has a hard time maintaining cohesion.
