Chapter 16“Are you happy now, Father?” I hear a woman ask through the haze of excruciating pain steamrolling over my body.
“Sure, Hel,” I reply. I feel my face contorting with pain and that makes everything down to my toes cringe with tension. “How about you, Hel? Are you happy?”
She slaps me.
That’s enough to make me open my eyes and sit up. I realize with this weightless kind of sensation that I have no body. No, it’s probably lying on the floor in my house.
