I couldn’t take my eyes off her all night. I tried to keep my distance, but it was getting harder to do. She infuriated me so much, and at the same time, she was delicate, sweet, headstrong, and sexy—all the things my mother would love in a woman for me. Except that settling down was the last thing on my mind at the moment. Winning the prize money and growing my business even bigger was my plan. I couldn’t let anything distract me from that. The bet of her coming to the wedding was something last minute after I talked with my cousin. I needed a date and for sure wasn’t asking any of the women I’d dealt with in the past.
