THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Four days have pass since Fil left Crsyty village

And right now, along with Tren and his party, they are waiting in line at the front of the gate of the capital

The line is very long due to the upcoming tournament as warriors like adventurers look forward to participate with the hope of gaining both wealth and glory.

Fil and the four adventurers are in the middle of the line now when Reg which stands in his shoulders felt something ominous.

-[Wh-what’s this uneasy feeling…? It feels like the forest of doom is seeking for my presence!

…the feeling won’t settle down; it seems that the guardian fairies of that forest want me to come back!

…should I comply? That place has been my home for the pass one hundred years so it gradually became important to me

And so, Reg speak with Fil using telepathy ~

But as he looks at Fil, he just smiles and replied~

-It’s okay, you should go back besides, the deal we have agreed on is you will just accompany me for a few days, and that has already been fulfilled, so you have all the right to leave whenever you wanted… you should go and defend your home at all cost!

Just promise me one thing, okay?-

Reg is holding his tears while replying with a nod.

Fil looks at Reg with sincerity in his face and said~

-Promise me that you will surely defend those who rely on you, protecting those who deserves protection is one of the greatest feats in the entirety of all!-

Hearing those words, Fil laugh and just replied with a grin.

With that, Reg run away from the line and when he is nearly not visible from Fil’s perspective

He created a gust of wind that can takes him back into the forest in just one hour at maximum output.

-You better win Reg! the four presence I’ve felt yesterday in that direction is comparable to your own… *grin*

Well, I’ve taken a liking to you so I will not let you die, and that’s for sure!-

Magical aura is different from magic and aura for this is the evolve form of these powers, it is deemed as what you can call an advance type of power along with divine power of the gods and the demonic energy of the demons.

Magical aura is exclusive only to Fil’s race…

His race is called ELEMENTALIAN and is deemed by the gods as the strongest mortal race in the universe.

But they’ve been sealed along with their world ELEMENTO until Fil came back three years ago.

In the present, only the castle has been freed by Fil.

This is also the main reason for his journey; to free his people!

Magical aura’s difference with magic is that even though they came from the same essence which is mana, their capabilities is entirely different

Magic is the realization of the imagination while magical aura has another capability and it is materializing presence.

Not all worlds are aware of the fact that magic can be boosted by imagination and one those worlds is BERG.

With regards to BERG, Bergians’ mana comes from the mana pool within their body

But Elementalians have something different. Their magical aura is drawn from the unique organ they possessed which is close to the heart,

It is called elemental core, and this elemental core is very vast and can store immense amount of magical aura, if compared to a normal Bergians’ mana pool their ratio would approximately be one trillion is to one.

This elemental core is just like a second heart to an elementalian, for it is also connected to the blood vessels. This connection made the elementalians to have a unique type of blood wherein their blood can perfectly absorb mana. This makes them really strong because mana is similar to stamina and if their blood has mana within. Their physical ability is boosted. For other races, if their mana is mix with their blood, it will become poison, but this logic does not apply on elementalians, but instead, it has boosted their abilities.

Elemental core can also store different types of attributed depending on the cases. And also, elemental cores cannot be restricted by any other world’s laws. This means that elementalians can still unleash their full power even if they are not in ELEMENTO.

These are the reasons why they are called the strongest race. But even among them, achieving magical aura is very rare and hard to obtain…

After a few hours, Fil and the party have finally gotten their turn but there is one problem

One must have a small rectangular stone called a “Traveller’s pass” or an “Adventurer’s card” in order to pass through the gate

But Fil has neither, which puts him in a hot seat by the guards

“I can’t let him pass through! This lad doesn’t even have a traveler’s pass”

“Th-then he must acquire a new card first and fall in line once more”

Upon hearing it, Fil looks back at the end of the line but he can’t seem to see the end of it

And the guard is trying to say that he will need to fall in line again

-Not a chance!-

Fil showed his disagreeing face towards Tren describing what in his mind.

“Bu-but! that will take almost all-night sir guard!”

Tren highly argued.

“Well, I can’t just make all this people wait while he is taking a new card

That will hinder the lines even more and we might earn the wrath of all of those people”

Having lost the argument Tren think carefully…

While he is thinking MINFI suggested something to Fil

-[Young master, allow me to manipulate the guards memory for us to go through already!

I’m starving!]-

-Now, now, use that as a last resort besides, it seems that Tren still has something in his sleeve-

Tren took the guard a little further away from the gate and pulled something from his chest pocket

This made the guard startled and he quickly returns to his post and allowed Fil to pass through

“Whoa! what did you do Tren?”

“Haha! Nothing much, I just bribe him some cash!”

“HAHAHA! Is that so? Then I now owe you a favor, I promise to pay it back someday”

Then Jessica said something unusual

Tren suddenly stops her from talking any further.

This makes Fil a little curious but didn’t pry to it any further for he thinks that there is no need to…

It is now 7 in the evening when they entered the capital and there is a lot of time to spare before the tournament for it will be held in 3 more days

So, Fil and Tren’s party decided to grab some dinner first

“Cavern Dish! The food in here is superb sir Fil”

“Really, then let’s eat here, I’m actually pretty starving myself”

“Really MINFI-chan!? Then allow me to spoon-feed you hehe”

Reg is very triggered with what the black king said, but even if he hates it, it is a fact that they can destroy the forest whenever they wish

Frustrated as he is, he looks at the ground and he notice blood on the ground and far further lies the bodies of the forest guardians, the Fairies!

Reg’s relationship with them is not only that of a master and servant but also, he considered them friends as well

So, upon seeing their beat-up state he lets out a very furious roar that shake the whole forest

“Fuhahahaha! I can sense it! My power in him wants to reunite with me! I can’t wait to eat you!”

The white king shouted while looking at Reg as if he is just some type of food

-[Tch! Even with that display of my aura, they are not even fazed, but instead they are looking down on me!

Who are these people, they don’t see me as a threat at all…!]-

After grasping both their distance, Reg took the liberty of the first move.

He targeted the closest one which is the black king…

But then he recognizes his magic

[Th-this magic! You are the taboo mage who put a curse on me the other day!]

“That’s correct but also wrong at the same time! Kakakaka!”

[Wh-what do you mean…?]

“It is indeed my power who put a curse on you, but the one who perform it is the owner of this body not me!”

[I see… no matter the circumstances, you’ve earned my wrath so prepare to die!!!]

“Kha! Those words you’re spouting is for you not mine!

 be engulf in my newly revive power! ⸢Black Burial⸥”

⸢Black Burial⸥ is a wide range attack in the forms of black smoke.  When it comes in contact with living this, it absorbs their mana until nothing is left.

It is the black king’s favorite spell for he loves to see his opponents suffer slowly.

[Agh! ⸢Wind Sphere⸥!]

⸢Wind Sphere⸥ is a defense spell that encircle the caster with thick and strong gust of wind.

Good thing, Reg was able to take precaution to prevent being devour by the ⸢Black Burial⸥

[⸢Blizzard⸥!]

A combination of wind and Ice magic that damages the opponent and temporarily slowed their movements and hinder their sight

With this, Reg makes his distance to think of his next move.

-[Attacking them head on will be suicide! …I need to somehow reach them without getting close!]-

But then the black king provokingly said.

“Kha! Why did you stop attacking white feline? Did you finally realize that further resistance will be futile huh!?”

The red king notice that Reg realizes that he has no chance of winning if he attacks head on, but if Reg continue to make his distance the match will be prolonged,

And the red king doesn’t want that so, he whispered something to the white king.

“Kha! If you’re not attacking then I will!”

The black king then engages Reg while covering himself with his ⸢Black Burial⸥.

He then throws a series of punches and kicks towards Reg’s ⸢Wind Sphere⸥

“Fuhahahaha! How I’ve missed this sensation! The feelings of my fist and legs when hitting someone! Ahh!!! How blissful!”

The black king continues to laugh as his attacks slowly weaken Reg’s barrier.

-[Th-this is bad! If this continues, he will reach me!]-

Reg struggled to make distance.

While being occupied by the black king, the other three kings appeared behind and started to launch their attacks

Upon receiving so many attacks from the four kings made his ⸢Wind Sphere⸥ to completely shatters and he directly receives the blows from them.

They then rain him with a barrage of slashes, kicks, punches, thrusts, and so on and so fort…

With that, he was severely injured resulting him to falls down from the sky. Blood is dyeing his snow-white fur and his consciousness is starting to fade

-[I have no chance of w-winning, *argh!*

Never in my life have I’ve been put such a disgraceful state!

Kha! I’m sorry Luminous-sama, it seems that I will perish here… Argh! No!!!

These monsters will surely obliterate the forest if I leave them be!]-

After refusing to give up, Reg heard a gentle voice in his mind and it said >

Then Reg’s body started to glow brightly.

And the remains of the three beasts in the underground chamber gouge out a glowing sphere.

The sphere then went to the direction of the forest at an incredible speed and went directly inside Reg’s body.

After the light faded, a sudden change in the atmosphere has occurred.

This change was felt by the four kings.

“It seems that he’s about to do something, do not let your guard down black king!”

The red king warns the black king while analyzing the next move that Reg will make.

“Kha! No matter what he did now it will change nothing!

Just accept your fate white feline, so I can pummel the white bastards face after he regain his power!”

The black king attacks Reg but he was sent flying.

The white king just ignored what he said and focus on Reg…

Then he realizes something.

“His mana changes! My mana in him has been mix with that of the goddess!

It looks like we need to join the black b***h to finish this quickly”

The red and blue king agrees with him and join the black king

-Tch! *spit* this bastard seem to powered up!-

“…Huh!? What are guys doing!? I told I will handle this alone!!?”

“No, don’t you see, he now uses the power that Luminous bestowed upon him and is adding it to his own”

“Hahahaha! It’s like luminous and I have a child now! Magnificent!”

The white king added.

“Tch! Fine then! But I will be the one to deliver the final blow understand you three?”

“Very well then”

The blue king replied.

After coming to an agreement, a sudden burst of pressure occurred in front of them

After that, Reg’s form completely changes

His snow-white fur has been reinforced by green hard scale; the tip of his tale emits a bright orange flame.

He also gains a pair of wings that is surrounded by visible winds

And his fangs have become larger and sharper.

He then takes flight again to stand on equal grounds with the four kings

Witnessing this, the red king said~

“It looks like Luminous grants him the ability to completely use the four attributes, it was the right choice to order the previous owners of these bodies to just ambush the other three, if not! Things wouldn’t be so much in our favor”

“Kha! So, what if your form changes a bit! You’re still a f**king feline, you are no match for the great me!”

The black king arrogantly proclaim.

After transforming, Reg is not moving as if he has no intent of attacking.

-Kha! He became sharper and smarter, he wants us to attack him first to counter us… interesting!-

“Unfortunately for you, we will not fall for that hahahaha!”

Or so the red king proudly said.

A few minutes later and none of them is still making a move

This is getting on the four kings’ nerve, and so they decided to comply on Regs plan.

 They attack him in all direction

“⸢Azure Strike⸥”

⸢Azure Strike⸥ is a throwing type of attack where in a blue light in the form of arrows is send to the opponent. The Blue kings sends a total of 10,000 arrows to Reg; each arrow is able to instanly kill a D-rank adventurer even if he manages to block it.

“⸢Incinerate⸥”

⸢Incinerate⸥ is the red king’s favorite attack spell as it burns anything it touches. It is also the attack that severely injured the fairies. It has a form of a big ball of fire that scatters upon contact.

“⸢White Strike⸥”

Unlike the other’s attack, ⸢White Strike⸥ is a debuff spell of the white king in which it lowers the opponents defense upon contact. Its effect did not affect Reg since the white kings’ power is still very weak.

“⸢Black Spheres⸥”

⸢Black Spheres⸥ is a set of small balls that came out of the black king’s body, they have the same properties as the ⸢Black Burial⸥ but their effect is very inferior to it. But if one unluckily gets hits by all of them, he will surely perish.

However, Reg was unscathed after that

Instead of being frustrated because their coordinates attack didn’t work the red king was astonish by Regs’ response.

“Fu~hahahaha! This is amazing he manage to block all our attacks by neutralizing it with their opposite attributes!

Fascinating! Very fascinating white lion! You reminded me of the detestable goddess Luminous on our first battle!”

But Reg didn’t even reply to what he just mentions, but instead he attacks all of them at the same time

[⸢Four Blast⸥]

⸢Four Blast⸥ is an attack that possess all the four attributes. It is capable of destroying a village upon contact. In the case of the four kings, they really will not come out unscathed with this attack.

‘’’“!!!!”’’’

*argh!*

*whaah*

*errrgh!*

*Tch! Argh!!*

The four kings were blasted by that attack, making them fall into the ground

The power of that attack was unexpected to them that’s why it caught them by surprise.

After being buried by rubbles, they stand up and look up at Reg.

“Haha! Look at him, looking down on us!”

The Red king take flight again after saying that.

“Kha! I admit that that attacks stings, but it is not enough to injured me!”

The black king announces that Reg did indeed became strong but he also insisted that he has still no chance of winning.

Unknown to them, Reg’s consciousness during that time is already clouded with the power he possesses which is too much for him. The only thing he can remember is that the four individuals in front of him must be eliminated.

This fact was soon realized by the blue king and so, he informs the other three

“He’s unconscious, it’s looks like the power he acquired is too much for his mental capacity”

“Then this is our chance to end this”

The red king then announces that they will again attack Reg altogether.

“Kha! I don’t like ganging up on my opponents but I will put that aside for now!”

The black king is not fond of many versus one type of battle but he has no choice but to comply for the sake of their vendetta to the goddess.

*Hyaah!!*

*Whoosh!!*

*blarghh!!*

*Slashhh!!*

*Argghh!!*

The attacks continue for another several minutes.

During those times, Reg just continue to block and neutralize the attacks of the four kings.

But their attacks didn’t give him a chance to counter.

Until one moment, they stop attacking, acting on instinct, Reg mistook this as an opportunity to fight back however, it is just a scheme by the red king to let Reg’s guard off.

Within that moment the four launches their strongest attack at the same time on Reg.

“Hahahahaha! You’re an i***t! Take this ⸢Crimson Judgement⸥!”

⸢Crimson Judgement⸥ is a very devastating attack that can instantly turn the opponents into ashes upon contact. The red king is not a fond of this attack since it takes away his joy of watching his opponents cry in agony.

“Nothing personal white lion… ⸢Indigo’s Pierce⸥!”

⸢Indigo’s Pierce⸥ is a big spear that pierce anything. This is the pride of the blue king as his attacks is based on projectiles and does not have an area of effect.

“Kha! Begone now white feline! ⸢Dark Devourer⸥!”

⸢Dark Devourer⸥ is the evolve form of ⸢Dark Burial⸥ as it has a wider range and it absorb a lot faster. This attack puts quite a hurdle on the black king’s mana pool but it is being reinforce by the mana that this attack absorbs

The impact of those powerful attacks sends out a strong wind throughout the land but it did not reach the capital where all the strong individuals have gathered so only a select few was able to feel it.

Thinking that their attack finally ends the white lion, the red king lets out a loud laugh.

But then suddenly, Reg comes out of the smoke created by the impact and directed his fangs towards the red king.

*Smirk*

“Just kiddiiiiing… hahahaha!”

Is what he said as he poses and cover his eyes with his right-hand while Reg approaches him

Then a sudden light appeared on top of Reg.

“⸢White Hypnosis⸥”

And Reg was put on the white king’s control.

The battle was ended by that sneak attack of the white king and Reg’s consciousness completely vanish.

“Now, do your deed white king while we tend to the injuries of this vessel of us”

With that the three kings started to absorb the surrounding mana to replenish their mana pool and heal their wounds.

The damage from the ⸢Four Blast⸥ did a serious damage on them and if the real owner of their body was hit by that, they would’ve surely perished.

All the weak magic beast fled from the forest while the strong ones from B to S-tier surrendered to the four kings.

And so, just like the duration of absorption process of the three kings on the other three calamity beasts, it will also take three days to for the white king to absorb the white lion’s mana.

Three days have pass and the four kings gather up an army of B to SS-tier magic beast and they are set to attack the closest castle in their location. With this, it is a given that it was the capital where the royal castle lies is their primary target.

At this time at the capital, the tournament is in the semi-finals phase.
