AFTERMATH

During the battle between Fil and the Dark lord. Reg and the others were push all the way back to the arena by the shock waves of their fight.

Thankfully, Reg’s barrier holds on until they landed, so they were not gravely injured.

[Phew!! I guess we made it out without having severe injuries.]

“Aaaaaa… this is why I told you to not go there, and yet you still insisted hmph!! Hmph!!”

MINFI lectured Fionna.

“Ahahahaha… sorry, sorry, at least I know now that Fil is safe and he can handle him well… it such a relief… sigh!”

-Wait? Relief??-

“A…Um… what I meant is that I am relief that the kingdom will be save!! It’s not like I was worried over him or anything…”

At first, she thought that she is just having a very good dream.

But when she touches her, her warmth has seemed to be fading.

Fionna then became worried and she tried to shake her.

“Mother?? …Mother?? Are you alright??”

But queen Victoria did not answer let along woke up from shaking her body.

Tears then slowly filled Fionna’s eyelids. She then tried to wake her up again.

“*Sob* m-mother…?? Mother, this is not funny!! I beg you, wakeee up!! *sob*”

But no matter how hard she shakes her body; Victoria did not wake up.

It was at this moment, that Fionna shouted the word “Mother” in agony.

“MOTHER!!!!!???? *SOB* WAAAAAAHH!!!”

Jake then regains consciousness from Fionna’s shout. He then looks around and notice that the arena is damage and some part of it has crumble. He saw all the citizens wearing very sad expressions.

He then notices his sister holding the queen in her hands while crying very hard.

“Mo…ther?? Mother no!!! *sob*”

He quickly stands up and get close to them. He then holds his mothers’ hand and started crying.

“*Sob* *Sob* waaaaahhhhhh mother!!!!!”

He cried loudly.

The reason why Victoria lost her life is because of her life force was completely spent.

Life force serves as the force that binds or connects the soul of a person to its body. Some say it is the essence of the soul but that is not quite right.

⸢Divine Possession⸥ uses life force to temporarily bind the god’s soul into the body of a mortal.

Normally, ⸢Divine Possession⸥ only last a minute or two because the life force of a person is use in it. And the longer it last, the more life force is exhaust.

But, the ⸢Divine Possession⸥ that Luminous performs lasted for almost an hour and Victoria’s life force were almost spent completely. In addition to it, Victoria’s health is also not good. This is partly to blame for her death. Well, the deal they made was for Luminous to use anything necessary to succeed even if Victoria will end up paying it with her life.

Luminous did not actually agrees to it, she just pretended to agreed and if she feels that Victoria can’t take it anymore… she will get us of her body and uses her soul instead, to fight the four kings. But things didn’t go exactly as plan.

Moreover, Victoria did not let Luminous felt that her life force is nearing its limit, and not only that, she also tried to help her to strengthen the barrier she casted.

Thus, her soul and body finally gave up and leads to her death.

Sire Gilbert then approaches Fionna and Jake and tried to comfort them. He was also crying but he is trying to hold it in.

“Princess Fionna, prince Jake… *sob* Her majesty gave her life to defend us all from the threat that tried to destroy Glacier…

She’s the best queen that we can ever wish for…

She’s a hero… she did not hesitate to save her people even at the cost of her life.

Be proud of her, for she is your mother, the hero of Glacier just like your father was.”

Fionna and Jake then lean on sire Gilbert chest and cried more while saying “Mother” so many times.

“Be proud people of Glacier!!! For the queen exchanges her own life to ensure ours and the kingdom’s future!!”

Sire Gilbert Shouted while raising his right fist.

The people then wipe their tears and shouted in return.

The war cry they releases echoes throughout the kingdom.

It was at this moment arrive at the scene. He saw all the people crying, and when he looks at the middle of the arena, there he saw Fionna and the others.

He then approaches them. After getting close he spoke.

“Bust- …Fi-Fionna??”

When Fionna hears his voice, she suddenly turns around.

Fil saw her crying face. Her eyebags were swollen and tears continuously slide down her cheeks.

She then quickly hugs him and continue to cry in his chest.

In that moment, Fil felt extreme sadness and ache in his heart.

-Seeing her like this make my heart scream in pain and agony… and this extreme sadness that is building up inside me… no!! I refuse to see her like this!!-

Making up his decision, Fil grabs Fionna’s shoulder and move her forward to see her face.

Fionna tried to wipe here tears after hearing that and with a static voice, she replied.

“*Sob* *sob* You’re right *sob* I must not let the people see me like this… *sob*

Or else they will also get discourage and will get swept by this weakness I’m showing…”

“Yes, that’s the right attitude…

And don’t worry, it is not too late, we can still bring the queen back.”

Fionna, Jake, and sire Gilbert all shouted at the same time.

“I don’t know myself, but one thing’s for sure, I can’t bare to stand and do nothing when I saw Fionna crying… it’s like something within me is telling me to stop the sadness that she feels”

“I see, I see… so in other words… you’re now in love!!! Fuhahahahaha!!! And I remember you saying that you will never falls in love hahahaha…!! how ironic young master!!

Well, I’m happy that you finally experience one of the things that the lord supremacy told you… mm-hmm! I’m really proud of you, young master, I really am… Pffft!!! Hahahahhaa!!”

“Stop laughing or I will have you wash the dishes when we return to Elemento!”

With that, Fionna became silent. Because washing the dishes is like a nightmare to her.

Meanwhile, Fil stands in front of Victoria’s corpse. He then looks at her and turn his gaze in front straight. Then he spoke.

“Can you stop what you will about to do……shinigami???”

Back at the rear, Fionna and the others were dumbfounded.

“Did he just say Shinigami???”

Fionna asks.

“Yes, I heard it too sister… if my memory serves me right, I have read about them… they are the ones who guides the dead to the afterlife… but I also heard that mortals like us can’t see them, so how come he can??”

Jake replied.

Then sire Gilbert raises a question.

“Th-then! Are you saying that Fil-dono can see and talk to these S-shinigami’s??”

“That’s right!!”

MINFI shouted as she approaches them to briefly explain the situation.

“You see… Um, Eto… to put it simply… the young master is very special and he is quite famous among higher beings so he can see them clearly… and don’t worry, queen Victoria will surely return!!”

MINFI cheerfully highlighted to them.

A mysterious red string appears in Victoria’s forehead and in the middle of it lies a big and sharp scythe that has dark skulls decorated in it and at the other side of Victoria’s body, a man in a completely dark hood appears.

“The red string of faith huh?? Thank goodness I’ve made you stop before you cut it hehe…phew!”

The red string of fate is the thread that represents the connection between the soul and the body of a person. It will only appear when a person dies and, in that time, a Shinigami will come and cut it for the soul to completely separated to the mortal body, and the Shinigami will then collect the soul and guide it to the divine realm for it to be process into the cycle of reincarnation.

Hearing Fil’s voice, the Shinigami retracted his scythe away from the string. The people within the arena still have no idea what is happening, they don’t see the Shinigami nor the string. The only ones who can see it is Fil and MINFI.

“Do you want to see what happening??”

MINFI asks.

Then the three of them nodded in return.

“Then, grab on my shoulder so I can channel to you guys my vision.”

They quickly comply. And there they saw the Shinigami in front of Fil. They were startled at first but for only a moment.

“So that’s a Shinigami huh??”

Fionna said.

“Indeed, but he is not the one that the young master will negotiate with in order to bring the queen back.”

MINFI replied.

“Negotiate?? And it’s not the Shinigami but someone else…??”

“Indeed!! Just wait and see!”

Fil then talks to the Shinigami.

“*Smirk* I can see the surprise in your face (even though it is completely dark with that hood and all…)

Then… are you familiar to the name FILIUS CAEL??”

The Shinigami then flinch upon hearing Fil’s real name. he then bows at him and spoke.

His voice is not deep and is the opposite of what he looks.

[I-I am sorry for the rude behavior… lord Filius!!]

“Hmm!! Apology accepted!!

Now then! I want you to call your boss here right now, I want to revive this person in the middle of us!!”

[I-I’m sorry lord Filius, I am just a minor subordinate and I don’t have the ability to talk to DEATH-sama himself… let alone ask him to descend into the mortal realm.]

“Oho???”

“Well, I have no choice then!”

Hearing Fil gave up the thought, the Shinigami took a breathing.

But Fil is not listening.

“DEATH come down here!!! ⸢GATE: DEATH’S DOOR⸥!!!”

A big dark ominous gate appears in front of them. It is decorated by all kinds of skulls and the aura it possesses greatly exceeds the aura that they felt from the dark lord. The gate then opens and a gale of extreme cold winds surge into Fil and the others.

With such a deep and relaxing voice, a man in dark royal clothes appears in front of the gate and spoke.
