"I'm going to grab some lunch and go home." I told him and he nodded, looking at my eyes as I stared at the cigar between his fingers. He rolled his eyes before dropping it and putting it out with his shoe. Then he stuffed his hands into his pockets before nodding toward his car that was parked across the street. "I can take you." He said, his husky voice always leaving me swooning. I thought about it for a second then realized that it wouldn't hurt to take his offer. "Sure." I smiled shyly and he turned, walking toward his car and unlocking it. He opened the door and waited for me to get in, his eyes followed me as I moved past him and my cheeks lost it. They were crimson within seconds and I tried to hide them. But the slight smirk on his lips told me that I failed drastically at doing that. He shut the door and walked around before getting in on his side. He started his car and immediately sped down the street, making me grab the seatbelt and pull it over me quickly. This was clearly amusing to him as he chuckled darkly. "Where to?" He asked me and I thought for a second. "You know that drive-thru down town?" I asked and he propped his elbow in the middle before leaving one hand lazily resting on the steering wheel "Yeah." He replied and I nodded, telling him that was the one I wanted to go to. He didn't reply. Instead he just sped up, driving past all of the cars on the lane before casually swerving in from of them. This was mesmerizing to watch. After a while he swung into the line-up of cars that led into the drive-thru I was talking about. "Do you want anything?" I asked, grabbing my wallet and getting out some money. "Nah." He responded in a monotonous voice and I frowned. "Come on. You brought me here. At least let me repay you." I told him and slowly, a smirk came to his face. He didn't say anything and that made me realize what he was implying. "Gross." I shuddered and he chuckled, leaning over and opening the glove compartment. My eyes widened as I saw the amount of money he had crammed into there. He grabbed a fifty dollar bill and dropped it onto my lap before shutting the compartment door and leaning back. After a while we got to the front and his phone started ringing. He picked up and spoke quietly to someone on the other end. But again, his tone and facial expression was different. He looked and sounded scarier each time he spoke to someone else and that made me wonder if he was only being nice to me out of pity. Sighing, I ordered for the both of us before paying with my money quickly. He saw this and gave me a blank look. I flashed him a smile before taking the food and ignoring the look given to me by the cashier. But as soon as her eyes caught a glimpse of Hayden, she looked to be in love. She oogled at him and he glanced over at me, checking to see if I got what we came for before he sped off, oblivious to the stare he was getting. He hung up on the person he was speaking to before running a hand through his hair. "I like your hair." I blurted out stupidly before my cheeks heated up. He glanced at me before he laughed at my idiocy. "Can you braid it?" He asked me and I was delighted. I grinned to myself before sinking in my seat. "Sure." I squeaked shyly, looking down at my hands as I fiddled nervously with my fingers. We pulled up to my house moments later and he got out, opening my door and taking the food out of my hands. Then he casually slipped the money into the bag and shut the door. We walked toward my front door and I prayed to God that nobody was home. Otherwise this would be very embarrassing. But thankfully, I unlocked the door and found that the house was completely empty. I took him into the living room and gave him the food I got for him. Then I sat next to him, leaving a large gap between us before I turned on the Television and flipped through the shows. Once I was satisfied with one of them, I put it on and began watching the series, forgetting that there was a guy in my living room. I started laughing as the comical scenes came on, almost choking on the noodles that I was eating. I felt his stare on me and I glanced over at him. He was looking back at me with a look I couldn't fathom. I quickly looked back at the screen, never the type to keep eye contact for more than a second. Once I was finished eating, I cleaned up the mess before carrying him up to my room so that I can work on his hair. I sat him down in front of my vanity table and grabbed the products and combs that I would need. I knew how to do this because my cousin had extremely thick hair, just like his. I'd braid her hair whenever she came around and eventually, I mastered it. He looked at me in the mirror as my hands came in contact with his hair. It was so soft. Defined curls were everywhere and his hair smelled nice. I got to work on braiding his hair and he started texting a few people while I worked. I caught a glimpse of his phone layout and realized just how neat it was. Everything was put in labelled folders. Hours later, I was finished with his hair and he glanced up from his phone before inspecting it. He nodded in appreciation and I knew he liked it, eventhough he showed no emotion. But it was just mini twists. He grabbed his wallet and I shook my head frantically. "Think of it as a 'thank you' for getting me out of Therapy." I told him and slowly, he nodded. "Thanks." He said, slipping his phone into his pocket and I gave him a smile. "It's cool." I mocked his words and he chuckled, shaking his head before I walked him to the front door. I opened it and he stepped outside before I leaned against the door frame and watched as he turned around. "Hale." He said, a sign of departure and I gave him a thumbs up. "Hayden." I said and he left, going to his car and speeding down the street. I went upstairs and dove onto my bed, exhausted from the weekend I had. I got up and locked my door before I took a long shower. I preferred to cry silently. Almost every night I'd lay in the tub and cry myself to sleep. Sometimes I'd never sleep. There aren't many people that understood my struggle. The ones that said they did, were liars. I shook myself out of my negative thoughts as the bus pulled up to the school and I waited for everyone to get out before I did. "Need help standing, Fatty?" One of them taunted and I bit back a frown. I acted as though it didn't affect me and gave him a smile. Just a small one. Eventually the bus emptied and I quickly made my way inside. Well - tried too, at least. I was shoved to the ground, making me hit my head yet another time on the hard ground. "Where are you going, Fatty?" To class. "Look at her, she looks just like a pig." So does your mother. "She should just crawl back into the hole she came out of." That would be painful. I laid on the floor motionlessly, staring up at the sky. It was a nice day outside, but not a good
