**CHAPTER ONE . ** (the great pain) My name is Bradley Herbert and this is my story; l was on my bed that faithful morning struggling to get up from my cold catching bed when I heard two men discussing in a low tone:where is she?, one whispered to another.Scared,I ran to my dad's room to inform him about the whispers ."Dad, I can hear some strange noises outside my window".What noise? my dad asked yawning . Not long after, a gun shot was heard outside our house and a woman's scream followed.My dad and I quickly ran out to see what happened.Lo and behold was my mom laying dead on the floor.My dad could not believe his eyes seeing his wife lifeless on the floor,on the other hand I was shocked that my mom I saw before she left for the annual night vigil was dead.All on my mind was "WHO CAUSED IT""? *****Few months later*** After the funeral of my mom, I and my dad relocated to Lagos so I could start a new School . I started a new school in Lagos where I met Andrew my new friend who had a knack for singing as me. One week after I resumed, I and the rest of the students in my class were asked to invite their mothers for a very important meeting. I was heartbroken knowing l had no mom. At this point I was thirteen years old. I went back home sad and full of grief as I narrated all that happened to my dad. My dad was also sad but all he could say was 'it is well ''. I woke up the next morning very late thinking by that my dad will ask me to stay back but instead,he did the opposite. ***At school*** Herbert!, Andrew called out, I heard you don't have a mother to represent you in the school's meeting?.Ye...s,l Answered.well ..., Andrew said scratching his head,l will plead my mom to represent you.What!!,I explained, what about you?l asked.Don't worry about me l will be fine, what are friends for Andrew said.I grabbed him with soo much joy that he almost lost his head.Thank you so much may God bless you richly . Amen!,can we go now? Andrew said as he led the way. **CHAPTER TWO**(Auntie Susan) Three years later, while at the sitting room, my dad walked in with a young lady.Good afternoon sir, I greeted.Good afternoon- Herbert, this is Auntie Susan, my friend . my dad said pointing at the lady.Good afternoon ma!,l greeted with a smile. She didn't say a word but gave a false smile.hum!. Babe!,come with me let me show you your room my dad said as he carried Auntie Susan's bag.Oh!, thanks Mr.Bradley . Auntie Susan said as she followed my dad inside.I was left alone in complete bad cam .Why will my dad just bring a lady to the house just like that? l thought to myself.Herbert ,my dad called;sir!!!! ,l answered as l ran quickly to meet him. ***Next month**** Dad and auntie Susan had gone out, and I was told to clean and arrange the house.when cleaning my dad's room l opened a drawer and I found a positive pregnancy test slip.I examined it properly and found out that Auntie Susan was three months pregnant for my dad. l was so pained and crest fallen after seeing this and I wept bitterly. Time passed and auntie Susan delivered a little baby boy,whom my dad named Desmond. One day my dad called l and auntie Susan for a meeting.Before he started he told me to get him some water to drink and I did with out waisting much time. l called the both of you hear to inform you on the journey l want to embark on to South Africa to finish my projects.Dad said and drank a little water.Wow! dad, you are going to South Africa?.l asked in surprise.Yes Herbert,l will be going to South Africa and I am going to stay there for Five years.What!!,five years?,l asked.Will you shut up your mouth?, auntie Susan yelled.Whats the matter.Dad asked.Aunty Susan adjusted; nothing,it is just that you had been talking with Herbert and not with Desmond.But Desmond is still young?dad said.And so!!. Auntie Susan thundered.Ok sorry.Dad turned to Desmond and told him all he told me and added that he would be living the next morning.While Mr. Bradley and Susan argued, Herbert played with his junior brother. ****CHAPTER THREE***(Precious) After Herbert's dad.Mr Bradley left for South Africa, Herbert was in complete pain and filled with fear for Susan .At this time he was seventeen years old but he feared Susan due to the respect he has for his dad. ***At home*** Now listen to me you good for nothing child, Susan said.now that my husband is gone,l don't want to see you close to my son or even touch anything that belongs to him . But he is my brother!. Herbert manage to speak.This got Susan so angry that she pounced on him and smashed his phone.Get out of my sight!!!.She added. **Later that day** Herbert was outside washing Susan's clothes when she (Susan) walked in with a lady.Well Precious, this is my house.Susan said.You mean you own this massive building? Yes I do, Susan replied.As they kept talking, Herbert came close to them to greet them and to collect the bags Precious was carrying.Will you get out of here!!. Susan thundered.Who is he?,oh!, this i***t,he is my house boy.If he is your house boy allow him to carry the bags now Precious suggested.How will this smelling thing carry your bags for you?; don't worry I will carry it.Susan said as she walked inside carrying the bags.Are you not coming?,she said to Precious who was starring at Herbert. **At the sitting room** That is how I left everything to come and meet you.Precious said with her eyes full of tears.Don't worry,l will help you.Susan said with a smile.Really???. Precious asked with excitement.Yes!.Susan said .Oh!, thank you very much,may God bless you with all your heart desires,may he give you long life and prosperity,may He......... But on one condition!. Susan cuts in.Condition?, Precious asked with her mouth opened.Susan stood up and adjusted her self.Yes!, condition. ***CHAPTER FOUR***(sing a song part one) It was the night of that same day.Susan picked up her phone to call someone.Hello,Ganji!, Hello mama!, Ganji greeted Susan . When Herbert heard Susan making a strange call,he tip-toed to her door-mort .l want you to do another job for me.Susan said.Mama,l am always active,any job will be done quickly.Gangi said.l want you to kill her son for me the way you killed her,so that l can have my husband all to my self and my son. What!!!!!. Herbert screamed ,as a result of what he heard Susan said.Susan ended the call and ran out.what where you doing at my door-mort.You killed my mom!!. vindictive tears gushed out from his eyes . Seeing this, Susan quickly took Desmond and Precious and left the house looking the door behind Herbert . ***Few minutes later** Herbert was still crying inside his room when their Susan returned with a police officer.This is him, arrest him! Susan said pointing at Herbert.Sir please what did I do?, unconcerned,the police officer dragged Herbert along.You are under arrest.Herbert kept begging in pain but to no avail.Here is your money.Susan said as she handed a bundle of money to the police officer.l want him to stay in prison for Four years.She added.That was how Herbert was arrested and taken to the prison. ***Three years later** Herbert was now twenty years old and was still in Prison. Herbert friends including Andrew had finished secondary school and now in his tertiary education. That same year ,the Directing Police Officer (DPO),who had been childless for the past four years miraculously gave birth to a baby boy.He was so happy that he instructed that some prisoners should be released and Herbert was part of those that were released. WATCH OUT FOR EPISODE TWO!!!!.
