Things were different now. Everything changed. Many wolves (aka lycanthrope) were killed in the Great War, some packs were completely wiped out - only the strongest survived.
It had been 20 years now and the lycanthrope community was nowhere near fully recovered from the slaughter - but they had gotten their revenge. The number of active hunters dwindled - they were hardly a problem now, but other problems lied ahead. The once big and powerful packs struggled to stay together as the stronger pack Alphas saw their opportunity to gain more power and to replace those they lost in the Great War. Those who refused to join the pack were executed. Executions were usually vulgar and offensive to those looking on - wolves who refused to join another pack and pledge their allegiance to the new Alpha had their head pulverized and their bodies set alight, any remains then became fish food. Not ready to meet death and with the fear of losing those who remained in their family many reluctantly approved of their new Alpha.
The strongest pack before the Great War and after was the Bleddyn pack due to its uniqueness. It was rare to see more that one Alpha per pack. Bleddyn was ruled by three stong alphas - the oldest with overall control, Jason. His younger and cool-headed brother Kylel - second in command and finally, Zooko the newest, youngest and also the most aggressive of the three. It was likely that one-day Ziggy and Jay-Jay the youngest of the brothers would also become Alphas themselves. The pack was one of the strongest in the world, partly because of three Alpha brothers but also because of the number of wolves all of whom were completely devoted to the pack.
