Chapter 1 Force Me To Die
I fell onto the ground and died very miserable. That's the way my wife chose for me to die.
She didn't care about me at all.
At that moment, she was sitting on the ground with an anxious face, shaking the unconscious Haris desperately. "Haris! Wake up! We're safe! You can't be hurt! If something happens to you, I won't live!"
Haris, who had closed his eyes tightly, finally opened his eyes slowly after several desperate shakes. "Callie. I'm much better. Just a little flustered... Where is Corson? Didn't Corson take the plane with us? Where did he go? Falling from so high in the sky, Corson must be afraid now. Callie, you don't have to worry about me. Go and see Corson first!"
Although he was concerned about me, his hand held Callie's clothes tightly with a fearful look.
Callie looked into his tearful eyes and felt even more heartache. Her delicate hand touched his cheek, and she comforted him softly, "You don't care about him first, you already have heart disease at such a stimulus. I'm afraid of being a serious illness. Corson is too ignorant! At that time, he was still jealous. Obviously, he was good at skydiving. He insisted on rescuing the life capsule with you. He's gone too far this time. I am so angry with what he did this time!"
Her beautiful face twisted with rage, and the disgust in her heart was clear when she mentioned me.
I gave a wry smile and asked myself, deep down. 'Is it worth it to hold on to this marriage for so many years, only to end up tired of even looking at each other?'
Looking at the wreckage of the plane scattered not far away, I felt more fearful.
A few minutes before, the plane had crashed and was plummeting toward the ground.
The passengers had been instructed to evacuate into the escape pods.
But at this critical moment, disaster struck.
There was only one spot left, but two of us remained on the plane—Haris and me. Only one of us could survive.
I watched Callie help Haris into the rescue capsule. Though I had braced myself for it, but I still stopped breathing when I heard her cold words: "Don't pretend. Everyone knows you are a VIP of the skydiving club. Haris has been suffering from heart disease for years. You are not so selfish as to rob him of the last seat."
Then she threw the parachute directly. I stiffened, reaching out to grasp her hand to explain.
But the next second, she pulled her hand away impatiently.
The last scene she left me was a cold figure.
Then came her final words: "I will never, for the rest of my life, be with someone as selfish as you. Someone who only thinks of himself. Do you understand?"
In the final moments of my life, she didn't look back at me.
In the warm and spacious room, Callie covered the quilt for Haris and was about to turn around and leave, but her hand was grabbed by Haris. "Callie, don’t go. I'm afraid to be here alone. I have been really lonely all these years. Don't leave me."
The man's red eyes and trembling lips were all showing Callie his vulnerability and dependence.
Callie's heart softened in an instant, and the hand on the doorknob shrank back unconsciously. "You fool! I'm not going anywhere. I'm always here with you, okay?"
She had never been shown me such a gentle tone, such a gentle smile.
No matter what I did, it was always useless.
For our marriage, there was no love and warmness. At this moment, I suddenly see them getting along intimately. My heart was like being stabbed by a knife, and the pain almost brought tears to my eyes.
Haris nodded with a sigh of relief, but the strength of his hands did not relax at all.
Callie smiled, reached out to rub his head, but suddenly found Haris' cheek beside a not obvious wound.
Her smile stiffened on her face for a moment, frowning tightly. "What happened? You didn’t have this before we boarded. Did you hurt yourself?"
But when he heard this, he immediately got into her arms like a frightened rabbit and closed his eyes painfully. "It was my fault. It has nothing to do with Corson. He didn't do it. Please, don’t fight with him."
This was his usual way. He hurt himself after framing me. But he performed, he was good to me. Even if I tried my best to explain, Callie tried not to believe a word I said.
Sure enough, a fierce light flashed in her eyes.
