CHAPTER 55 “I’ll walk if you cannot send anyone. It’s alright.” I said on the phone, my voice breaking. The classes were going to end in another hour but I couldn’t stay in school for a minute longer. “No, no, let me look for Arthur. I’ll send him right away!” Cora exclaimed on the call. “Thank you. And please, fast.” My chest was closing. I could feel something terrible coming on its way and this time, it wasn’t a storm or heavy rainfall. The skies were clear but there was something else. Terror—it was in the air and I felt suffocated the longer I stayed inside the school. Maybe I needed a few days more by myself before returning to my normal life and continuing with school. I thought leaving home and my mother was going to bring me peace but now, it seemed like it wasn’t possible. T
