Malik and Brodie spent the weekend sightseeing as well as shopping. Brodie had only been in Madrid once before, ironically, acting as close protection for Alexander Salenko, so Malik took great delight in acting as tour guide, taking Brodie round the high spots and highlights of Madrid.
In the apartment, they talked, cooked, ate, slept, made love and talked some more. By Monday morning they had agreed a way forward which suited them both and began to put arrangements into place to make it work. They mutually agreed that Brodie and Malik as a couple, living together, would be doomed to failure as they both wanted very different things out of life. Neither of them wished to walk away from the other or lose what they felt they had, a deep and special friendship and a love for each other.
