ALEX'S POV The evening had been frustrating for me. I spent most of it with Herman Tolliver in the infirmary, watching as the nurse fussed over his arm. The break was clean—Allen made sure of that—but that didn’t mean Herman wasn’t howling like a pup with an injured paw. His cries echoed through the small room, getting on my nerves. If only he knew how lucky he was. Allen had stepped in before I could do something far worse.
