My breath came in short and heavy gasps as Alpha Alex’s wolf reached toward mine. In that moment, his presence alone was suffocating. It was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. It was a force so intense it left me trembling. The mate bond snapped into place like a chain tightening around my soul. My senses felt overwhelmed. It was as if someone reached into my chest and drew my heart out... but in a good way.
I sat frozen in place. I couldn't move even if I wanted to. My wolf trembled with a submission to his. It wasn’t fear, it was something deeper, something I couldn't really explain. My heart raced as his piercing blue eyes locked with mine, and in that moment, everything else faded away.
