Chapter 2

RING

When the bell rings I get up and leave as fast as I can.

I see Jeff leaning against his car talking to some of his friends. I walk over to him and when he sees me he stands up. When I walk over to him I punch his arm.

"Ow, what was that for?" He asks rubbing his arm.

"What happened to 'being there is I need you'?" I say looking at him pissed.

He opens his mouth then closes it, not knowing what to say. I just sigh and walk around the to the passenger side and get in waiting for him.

When we pull into the driveway I get out and walk up to the kitchen to get something to eat.

"How was school?" I let out a small scream and turn around, with my hand over my heart, to see my aunt standing in the doorway.

"Aunt Ruth, you scared the hell out of me," I say grabbing an apple off the counter.

"Sorry honey, I didn't mean to scare you." She says walking further into the kitchen sitting down as Jeff walks in. He walks over to the fridge, he opens it and grabs a bottle of water.

"Hey, I'm sorry, I know that it's your first day of school and that I should be there to help you and I want, and there's nothing that can excuse that, but I hope that you can forgive me." He said looking at me with sadness in his eyes, and I knew that he meant it and was really sorry.

"OK, I forgive you," I say and I can see his shoulders relax. Aunt Ruth looks between us with a confused look.

"School was great, I made a new friend and I didn't have any pregnancy problems," I say looking at her. She smiles and nods her head happy, I nod my head back and leave to go to my room to do my homework.

I walked into my room and set my bag down and put my phone on my nightstand, and went into the bathroom. When I walked out I looked at myself in the mirror. I turned sideways and pulled my shirt up to look at my flat stomach, I ran my hand over it and smiled when I thought about the little one growing inside me.

I heard my phone buzz and walked over and saw a text from Ash.

Ash- Hey girl, what are you up to?

Me- Nothing, just gonna start my homework. Why?

Ash- Well, there's a party tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to come?

Me- Whos party, it's the first day of school.

Ash- It's Blakes party, he always throws parties on the first day of school.

I thought about whether I should go to the party or not. I know that there was going to be drinking, but after I have the baby I know that I won't be able to go out as much as I am now.

Me- Sure, what time?

Ash- I'm already here.

I hear honking after I read the text, I get up from my bed and walk over to my window and see Ash getting out of her car and walking to my front door. I walk downstairs and open the door before she could knock.

"Hey, come upstairs and help me pick out an outfit to wear," I say grabbing her arm and pulling her upstairs before she could say anything and before aunt Ruth and Jeff notice that she's here so they could ask me anything.

We walk into my room and I walk into my walk-in closet, I pulled out a black tank top, some black skinny jeans, and my favorite black combat boots, and walked out and showed them to her to ask her what she thought. She looked at them and nodded her head.

"So is there always a party thrown on the first day of school?" I ask when I walk into the bathroom and close the door.

"Yeah, and it's always a hit, it's a great place for people to met up and for them to hook up," she said as I opened the door and walked out. I walked over to my vanity and got my makeup out. I stuck with the natural look but put on some mascara and a light color lipstick. I decided to put my hair half up half down and curl it a little.

"I'm done," I said standing and turning towards Ash and saw that she was on her phone. I walked over towards her and waved my hand in front of her phone.

"Oh, sorry, I was looking at this video of a cute puppy playing with a bigger dog, it's so cute," she said looking me up and down and nodding in satisfaction.

We walked out of my room and made our way downstairs.

"Hold on I just got to go and tell my aunt that I'm leaving," I say walking towards the living room where I see aunt Ruth and Jeff sitting on the couch watching tv.

"Hey guys, me and my friend Ash are going to go out for a little bit," I say walking around the couch so that I'm standing in front of them.

"Ok, sweety just be careful," aunt Ruth says and I nod then turn to leave when a voice stops me.

"Hey wait up, I want to go with you too," Jeff says getting up and walks over to me.

"Ok, but were probably just going to go to the mall and go shopping or something," I say trying to get him not want to come with us.

"Oh, come on Melissa, we both know that you're a bad liar and that you're going to that party tonight, I just want to go to make sure that you're safe," He said grabbing my arm to stop me.

"Well, sorry to say this Jeff, but there isn't that much that can happen I'm already pregnant," I say turning around and walking away.

"Yeah, but you could lose it because your not safe," He said walking fast to catch up to me. I turn around suddenly, and Jeff walks right into me.

"You know I would never let that happen," I saw jamming my finger into his chest.

"I know, but wouldn't people find it weird if you don't drink," he said and I thought it threw, he was right some people would find it weird. I nod my head and he gives me a small smile and we walk up to Ash.

"So, this is my cousin Jeff, and he wants to come to the party too," I say when we get close to Ash. She nods her head and we get into her car and drive towards the party. When we get there, we get out and go inside. The first place we go is to the kitchen to get drinks, Jeff grabs a red cup and puts some water in it and hands it to me. I give him a small smile which he returns.

"Stay close to me and everything will be fine," he said grabbing a drink. I let out a sigh and put the cup to my lips and take a sip, Jeff leads me and Ash into the living room where most people are. I can see a dance floor in the middle of the room, and I lose my breath when I lock eyes with the forest green eyes that I had earlier in the day, Trevor Burns.
