GOOD AND EVIL

There was a small village called afafanyi, they did not have a king. One day all the people in afafanyi village gather together, that we are surpose to have a king, let choose a king among ourself to rule over us. They called all the elderly man in the village to meet tomorrow in the shrine so that the obatala can choose a king for them. The next day all the people gathered in shrine the elderly man where called outside in front of obatala so many people where there to see the new king of afafanyi village. The herbalist start testing them one after the other, those who volunteer where 30 men, one of them was choosing among those men. Mr dauda and Mrs dauda and their three children where the first family to become a royal family in afafanya village. After some year, the herbalist of afafanyi village died. Since then there was know one to tell the king what obatala want for sacrifice for the next coming war, there is know one to strengthen the warriors whenever they go for a war, since the time the herbalist was dead they always being defeated. There was a rich man in afafanyi village is name his Mr adewolo, he has two wife but no child. One day he travel to another village called akunte for a business, he met one beautiful woman in akunte market, her name is Fayemi Tomiwa she is from a rich family, Mr adewolo strategically move towards her,"what is your name baby girl" said Mr adewolo; " she ask, I you talking to me", Mr adewolo "yes", "she laughed and said okay okay okay my name is Fayemi Tomiwa "can i know more about you" said Mr adewolo, "she smile and said why not" "you are so beautiful" said Mr adewolo," thank you" said Tomiwa, "are you a married woman" said Mr adewolo, "no, why are you asking" said Tomiwa. I love you, I want you to marry me, said Mr adewolo, "she laughed and said this is the first time you set your eyes on me, how can you say you want to marry me without knowing my family" said Tomiwa, Mr adewolo laugh and said that is not a problem, I'm done with my business in akunte, before i go back to my village let me see your parent so that i can take you with me back to afafanyi village, Mr adewolo followed her to are parent house. Fayemi family believe in obatala, Tomiwa father ask from her daughter who is this, this is the man that want to marry me, they where so happy that their daughter bring a man to them. The family gathered together, Tomiwa father ask "what do you do" "i'm a great farmer with many farm land, I trade some cassava, yam, mango, orange, tomato to your village, then i met your beautiful daughter said Me adewolo. "okay,what do you want from us" said Ngozi father, I have two wife, both of them did not give me child, I need your daughter hand in marriage said Mr adewolo, "Tomiwa Mother stand up and said how can my daughter be the third wife, problem we occur between three wives i don't want problem for my daughter, i can't agree to this marriage, she was annoyed", "Don't worry ma, I will build her a house seperate from my two wife i promise" said Mr adewolo. "Can you sleep at our place this night" said Tomiwa father, "yes sir" said Mr adewolo, "Me and the remaining family we think about it and give you answer tomorrow morning" said Tomiwa father, "no problem sir " said Mr adewolo, they give him a room to sleep. The next day all the family gathered and Mr adewolo was there, they said we will give you our daughter, but on one condition," what condition" said Mr adewolo, "you will not let our daughter suffer in the hand of your two wife, if that happen we will come to your village and get our daughter back" said Tomiwa parent, "yes have heard" said Mr adewolo, Tomiwa parent agree to marriage. The preparation of the introduction started, Mr adewolo pay the pride of their daughter. After the introduction and engagement was finished, he take ngozi and so many maidens with him back to afafanyi village. When they arrive at home, the two wife come out and welcome their husband, they look at Ngozi and ask who is this incompeted woman, 'this is my New and beautiful wife' said Mr adewolo, the second wife take her voice up and said, "YOU THIS MAN HAS START AGAIN OOO, YOU HAVE BROUGHT ANOTHER WOMAN TO THIS HOUSE, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, THIS WOMAN WILL NOT HAVE PEACE IN THIS HOUSE", the first wife keep her mouth shut and go inside her own apartment. So the husband take his new wife to her own apartment. So after some month the new wife get pregnant, so many people in the village like her because she is so kind and generous she give cloth and food to the poor, people come and visit her they called her Mrs Efunsetan means( a shareful giver), she like the name very much, she believe and trust in obatala, then she start serving obatala in her compound. Mr adewolo like her so much than the two wife, the second wife was so angry. One day Mrs efunsetan was cooking for her husband, she brievely went out of the kitchen to get some things, the second wife sneak inside the kitchen and add more salt to what she is cooking so that the husband can shout on her. When Mrs efunsetan come back to the kitchen, she had a feeling that someone has enter into the kitchen, she took the spoon and taste what she was cooking and the food was so salty, she smile and keep quiety and quickly pour the food away and cook another. The second wife was expecting her husband to shout on her, but she see that nothing happen, then she was so angry. After some week Mrs efunsetan was so sick, one of her maiden were cooking for her, the second wife come into the kitchen and tell the maid to get something for her, the maid said "okay ma" and she go, the second wife put poison in the food the maid was cooking, when the maid comes back the food is done, so she serve the food to her. Mrs efunsetan was about to eat and she had the feeling and called her maid and ask who was the person that come into the kitchen when you are cooking, "your second wife ma" said the maid, you can go said Mrs efunsetan, then she called an incantation to the food and start eating. After a month Mrs efunsetan give birth to a baby girl, and name her "ADUKE", people gathered at the day of the ceremony they eat, drink and enjoy themself. After some years the king sent for Mrs efunsetan, when she reach the palace, she greet the king and said your majesty why did you sent for me. The king said, have your sit Mrs efunsetan, then she sat down, "I want to make you the iyalode (which means head of woman) of afafanyi village", said the king, "am sorry my king i don't think i can accept this offer said Mrs efunsetan, one of the chief stand up and speak, anything the king say you must accept it , then she say okay i will be the iyalode of this village, the king and chief was so happy, and they say, this cause for celebration. There is a war between Afafanyi and Ikuayi village, the king and the chief have a meeting in the palace, that who will strengthen our warriors for us, this war is not the war we should be defeated, the chief at the right hand suggested why don't we ask Mrs efunsetan to strengthen our warriors for us, she is a powerful woman that serve obatala at her compound, the king send his bodyguide to go and call Mrs efunsetan, then she arrived at the palace. There we be a war between our village and ikuayi village, we want you to strengthing our warriors for us, "said the king", no problem my king I will do has you said, said Mrs efunsetan. Mrs efunsetan strengthened the warriors, the warriors went to the battle feed, and they come back in peace not in piece, the people in the village gathered together to celebrate the victory of the war. One faithful day Mrs efunsetan gathered all the woman in the village, as the iyalode of the village. The reason why she gathered all the woman for meeting is that ( know husband as the right to lay his hand on his wife), when the meeting was still holding a woman run to the meeting and she was crying, the woman present at the meeting ask what is the matter , and she said my husband beat me up because i forget to clean his shoes, they look at theirself, is this not what we are having a meeting for, let teach the man a lesson. They follow the woman to her house and gathered theirs hand to beat the man so roughfully, the man go to the palace to report about what the women did to him. Then the king sent for Mrs efunsetan and ask her why did she gathered the women to beat a man up, and she said the man did not have the right to lay his hand on his wife, so we teach him a lesson. The king raise his voice on Mrs efunsetan and said, why will you beat a man up, i did nothing wrong, that is what the man deserve, the man should also feel how painful it is when beating his wife, said Mrs efunsetan, and she walk out in front of the king, this woman is looking for my trouble, said the king. Aduke is 25 years old now, she was pregnated by a man called Idowu, he was a poor guy from a poor family, so Mrs efunsetan tell him to come and live in her house till the time her daughter give birth. Idowu was so happy and thank aduke mother for letting him stay at her house, aduke, your mother is so nice, said idowu. Some month later, is time for aduke to give birth. Mrs efunsetan invited iyagbebi to her house, she want her daughter to give birth in her house, so Iyagbebi prepared a labor room in Mrs efunsetan house. Aduke was in labor room for three days without not giving birth, Mrs efunsetan was so panic, and go to the oracle, and said, obatala please save my daughter, let her born in peace said Mrs efunsetan, iyagbebi struggle to let her born in peace, but Aduke later gave up with the child in her stomach. Mrs efunsetan cry in bitterness, and she go straight to the oracle of obatala and break it to piece, and she said, I'M NOW THE GODS OF MYSELF, then the power came upon her. The next day, the burial ceremony was hold in her house, they buried ADUKE at her compound. When the burial ceremony was going on, she stand up and said, "no one should give birth in afafanyi, if anyone disobey me, the person will be killed". Everyone look at her and think what she saying was a joke. One day, a woman from afafanyi village give birth, when Mrs efunsetan held about it, she laugh, and send her maid guide to bring the woman and the New born baby to her place, when they arrived, she told the woman that, you disobey me, and she bring out Morter and pestle, and pound the new baby, the owner of the baby started crying. Then Mrs efunsetan command her guide to kill the woman, immediately they killed her. Since then she became an evil woman that even the king can not control her. The chiefs tell the king of her evil doing, then the king sent for her, when she arrived, she sat down without greeting the king, and the chiefs look at her, and said can't you greet the king, and the king said, you this woman, what has got into you, since the time your daughter died your attitude has change, remember that im the king, so you must obey whatever I say. She laughed and said, Me Efunsetan should obey you, that cannot be possible. And she said you this king dont pass your boundary, unless I will clear you out of the way, then she walk out of the king. The king send his bodyguard to go fault and arrest her, when gotten to her house, she kill all the bodyguard the king send to her house with her evil power. Mrs efunsetan became more evil every day by day, know one can stop her, people that love her started hating her because she has become a evil woman. One day, there is a maid that Mrs efunsetan like most than the remaining maidens, she was pregnant and afraid to tell Mrs efunsetan. The person that pregnated the maid was from Mrs efunsetan bodyguard. When she later found out, she call the maid out and ask, who is the man that has the child in her stomach, the maid was shivering, and point to one of her bodyguard, and said, this is the person that pregnated me. And she give the guy that pregnate her a sword, that he should cut away her head from her body. The guy started pleading that she should have mercy on both of them. You know I said that no one should give birth in this village you have the mind and pregnated her in my own compound, said mrs efunsetan. Both of them started pleading, but she did not listen to them, and command the guy that pregnate her, that he should cut her head off her body, the guy didnt have any choice again he do has he is commanded and cut her head off. The guy cry in bitterness, after some month later, the king has be looking for a way to get rid of Mrs efunsetan, but he did not find how to get rid of this woman. When the king held of what she did to one of her bodyguard, the king secretly invite the guy the evil was done to his palace. When getting to the king palace he greet the king, then the king told him to kill Mrs efusetan, and the guy said, I cant do it my king, and the said, wont you get revenge of what she did to you and I will make you rich if you can get rid of her for me. And the guy said to king, I will do has you said. The guy try his best in killing Mrs efusetan, but he always fail. One faithful night Mrs efunsetan was very tired and she went to bed to sleep, she slept off. And the guy used the advantage, he run out to pick a big stone, and pieces the head of Mrs efunsetan with the stone. The next morning Mrs efusetan was find dead with her head piece in her room, the news was spread through the village, everyone was so happy. People from her farther held that she is dead, they come down to afafanyi village to carry her dead body. So afafanyi village was fill with happiness, everyone started leaving in a peaceful way. They was very happy that Mrs efusetan is dead.
