“Okay, everyone. Let’s continue what we started and just pretend that nothing happened,” Zeph announced with her voice calm.
Everyone slowly returned to their own business, as if nothing had happened.
“Liam? Valerie? Can we talk for a moment?” Zeph excused the three of us, motioning us aside.
“Valerie…” Someone gently grabbed my hand.
It was Kleon.
“Kleon? What is it?” I asked, surprised.
“Take care... and you too, Liam,” he said with a faint smile. “You guys go ahead. I’ll take care of things here.”
“Thank you, Kleon. I’ll make sure to treat you later,” Zeph winked at him.
Wait... was there something going on between them?
“I’ll count on that,” Kleon replied, and they shared a knowing smile before we left the room.
