Chapter 23
Reggie got his crew up at the crack-of-dawn. They slept well with full bellies thanks to Linda. Reggie looked over at Ronnie. “You okay, Son?”
“Yeah,” Ronnie replied, glumly.
“Remember what I told you last night?” Reggie asked. “Doubt will get you killed.”
“Yes, sir,” Ronnie replied, giving his grandpa a smile.
They checked the fluids, filled the tanks with gas, and warmed up the engines. Linda came out and offered breakfast, but Reggie declined for them. However, he was happy to take a thermos of coffee each for himself and his men.
A pass by the Police compound was quick and uneventful. The next stop was the meat plant. Again, no one was there. What followed was six hours of cruising the streets. No more challenges.
“Let’s make a trip to the Hospital,” Reggie suggested.
