Chapter 30
Robbie and Ronnie met Sean, with Mutt tagging close behind, at the Lindgren’s. Sean knelt and gave him a good scratching. “I’m sorry, Fella, but I can’t take you with me. I’ll come see you when I can.” He looked up at the twins. “You guys take good care of him, will ya?”
“You sure?”
“Yeah. He’ll be better off here. Besides, you need a dog to help you keep an eye out. Some other families in Corpus have dogs. Maybe I can bring a puppy or two back the next time I come. I bet Kira would like one.”
Robbie nodded and they headed off.
“I thought you’d be wanting to take the truck,” Ronnie said to Sean. “You’ll need something to drive.”
“If I’m going to be governor, I thought a Cadillac would be more fitting,” he replied, with a smile.
Three hours later, Robbie pulled the Jeep up
