Chapter 33
Over the next two weeks, Robbie and Ronnie prepared the Jeep for their new adventure. They added steel plating behind the front seats, Robbie remembering the bullet he took to the side. They also welded additional steel around the machine gun turret to give Ronnie better protection when operating the 30-cal.
The plan was for Robbie and Florence to take Brenda and Kim to Corpus Christi, check in with Sean, and if everything was like they expected it to be, they would return home and he and Ronnie would pack their gear in the Jeep and head out.
The boys worked on their list of supplies and gathered them into a spot in the corner of the living room ready to go.
