Chapter 32
In Corpus Christi . . .
Homer and Dawn, two new recruits for the Pink Ladies, climbed into their pink squad car at 7:00 a.m. and headed toward the Bayfront. They had both gone through basic training at the Farm, but the only real experience they’d had thus far was driving the streets looking for trouble and the only problem they’d dealt with was a fallen tree across the road.
Halfway to the Bayfront, Dawn recognized a pickup truck. She and Homer had been told to keep an eye out for Marcia’s truck and this morning they were certain they had found her. They kept their distance and followed Marcia to the seafood plant.
“I’ll stay here,” Dawn said. “You go back to the station and get reinforcements.”
