Ward followed Tyler in his truck as he drove to Tyler’s parents’ house. As he drove along, he wondered if Tyler’s mom had an ulterior motive for inviting them to brunch. Could it be that, in some way, she knew they’d appreciate the extra time that morning? Knew they’d welcome not having to rush out of the house, to be able to take their time and…The thought was too bizarre, and Ward let it go. When he pulled into the Hugheses’ drive and stopped behind Tyler, he could see Jack sitting on the front porch.
