Chapter 14 “Tell Gramma what did you all do this week?” Mrs. Pierce asked after they had said grace. “We had a sleepover at Gramma and Grampa’s,” Jack said. Tyler could see Mrs. Pierce purse her lips. She considered herself and her husband to be Gramma and Grampa. Tyler’s parents were always referred to with the more formal Grandmother and Grandfather Hughes. It was Mrs. Pierce’s opinion that families were always closer to the mother’s side rather than the father’s. Hence, she and her husband were the more familiar Gramma and Grampa.
