Chapter 18
Over the next few weeks Tyler, Jack, and Eddie were at the farm to visit the puppies every chance they had. Sometimes they drove out after school, sometimes on weekends. Once in a while Tyler’s folks came along.
The boys were excited when the puppies’ eyes opened and when they took their first tentative steps. They laughed when the pups’ herding instincts started to show. First the pups tried to herd one another on their wobbly little legs. As they got older, they attempted to herd the chickens. The boys laughed even harder when Big Red, the rooster, squawked and chased the would-be herders out of the chicken yard.
One afternoon when Tyler, the boys, and Tyler’s parents arrived, Tyler announced that the boys had made their decision.
