Chapter 19
After he and Tyler had said good night, Ward sat for a time just staring at the television show he’d muted when Tyler had called. Like Tyler, he knew something like this would eventually happen. He hadn’t expected it this soon. He felt it would have been more likely if they had moved in together. That was a bridge they hadn’t yet crossed.
Ward tried not to worry. Tyler hadn’t sounded too upset. He’d reassured Ward he stood firm in his commitment not to run from this. But Ward couldn’t help feeling Tyler was experiencing more anxiety than he let on. There was just something in Tyler’s voice that left Ward with an uneasy feeling.
