The heat finally broke, and a warm breeze encouraged people out of air-conditioned spaces. Stephanie picked up Autumn and Chrissy with all the windows down.
“Where are we going?” asked Stephanie.
“Head toward Main Street.”
When they got close, Autumn pointed to a parking spot. Stephanie pulled in. She looked up. They were in front of Jade’s Jewelry. She looked at Autumn, who smiled and nodded.
The three of them walked into Jade’s and spotted her behind the counter.
