Traveling Away From Here
June 4th,1888
On a little town in Aberdeen, there was a candy shop that is filled with costumers and some children selecting their favorite candies. The whole atmosphere almost smells like melon honey and some sugar, the counter was a also a little boy known as Charlie Kramer. Who's currently keeping an eye on the shop. Charlie was twenty one at a time, but due to his lack of hight he only appearance is like a child. Charlie was described as a boy with raven black hair and emerald green eyes,he also wears a bright red vest with a purple ribbon and short pants in knee length. Minutes later there was an old woman who entered the shop giving Charlie some fresh baked apple pie.
"Thank you Mrs.Wilson."Charlie happily bowed.
"Anytime, Charlie boy,so how was your doing these days?"She asked.
"Absolutely fine, just keeping myself busy in guarding the shop."
"Really,so what about those prosthetics in your limbs?"
"Oh..."He grinned, looking at his jointed hands and legs. No one actually knows that Charlie was a doll and not someone who lost their legs, however he keeps his identity a secret.
"It's been a while since your father passed away..."
"Yes,the shop not as lively as before."
Charlie was reminded by his father, Helmer Kramer. Nobody in town knows the reason of his death. During his last hour,he apparently act strange like his aware. Ever since, his death still remains as a mystery, his father's murder made Charlie mourn for months. Many now even question if he knows the killer.
"So Charlie boy,"The old woman continued.
"Since your father is gone, what are you going to do now?"She concerned.
Charlie was silent for a while, he's been thinking about that too. Until he said:
"I am afraid to say that this is my last day on the shop, because I'm going off soon."He smiled.
"Really? where could that be?"
He decided a place where he intend to be going- London.
"I'll be going to England, Queen Victoria's capital."He answered.
"London? are you sure?" The old lady rise her eyebrows.
"My father used to work there as a toy maker, I was planning to see some of his friends to help about his death."
"My,my,I can't stop you right there, well good luck to what you're doing Charlie boy."She finally smiled.
"Don't worry Mrs.Wilson I'll write for you too to see what I'm doing."
By the afternoon, Charlie closed down the shop as she grab three lollipops and two chocolate bars before going upstairs. He started to pack his things in the medium sized trunk.
"Let's go, Tufty."He smiled as he grab his teddy bear and put him also in the trunk.
Charlie wore his brown coat and green beret as he climb downstairs. One last time,he glanced to the candy shop that he abandoned, smiled and off his way.
Before leaving in town,Charlie visited his father's grave with a stone bearing his name. He bought flowers and put them to his grave.
"I'll be going now,father."
As he walks away from the cemetery,he catches a man on the carriage pulled by two horses.
"Excuse me? can you take me on a lift?"
"Well,I was going outside Scotland boy."
The man replied.
"It's okay,my stop is at the other town."
Charlie travelled to town from town to get into his destination,he knows that London is a mile away,he gets to the point of sleeping on oak trees hugging his teddy bear. But at the same time, his tears are dropping down his eyes- because he sorely missed his father.
When the morning was set,he proceeded as he walks to the road alone. Now the orange sun is rising in the east which he found beautiful, however it's warmth wasn't enough to warm the cold air.
Another carriage crossed to him as the old man offered him to ride.
"Where are you heading sir?"He asked.
"In London,it's already thirty miles away."
He answered.
Charlie reached for his compass as it pointed north. He climbed to the carriage as they proceeded,a woman even offered him some fresh steamed potato.
"Thank you."
"Are you going to London too?"She asked kindly.
"Yes,"He answered.
"I see,but be careful when you're on the Whitechapel district."
"What's wrong?"He asked.
"Rumours spread about Jack the Ripper, who's killing the prostitutes there."
"That's creepy..."
Later, Charlie finally arrived in London,he seemed to be wowed on the place. especially the Big Ben on the Parliament house in London, located near the river of Thames. He walked around nthe capital but he was struggling to have a place to stay, even so the worse is that the innkeepers rejected him thinking that he's under age although he has enough money to afford one. The owners of the inns think that children like him will rob something important from them.
"Where I'm gonna supposed to stay?"
Later that night. He went on the end of the road to sleep. He doesn't trust strangers actually, sitting there alert so he can watch out his baggage. He suddenly heard his stomach rumbles as he reaches from his bar of chocolate.
The time when he fell asleep, there was some strange noise that jolted him awake. With his teddy bear and trunk,He went out to see what the sound came from, however he can't explain what he saw : It's a strange dog like humanoid creature eating the body of a policeman.
He gasped and drop down his trunk.
The noise made the monster distracted as he began to chase him. Charlie immediately bolted as he ran to the streets he was about calling for help but nobody responded to him. He ran zig zags so the creature can lose his target.
"Oh no!" He stopped on the dead end of the road. When he turned around, the monster leaped like he's about to eat him, suddenly, there was a giant black serpent that captured the monster. Charlie gasped as watching the serpent constricted it's prey. The giant snake is described as having shiny scales and blue cobalt eyes. But the weirdest was it's size. No snake able to get that long and big. For too much fright Charlie suddenly lose his conciousness and drop down as one dead.
