Attacked

Tresa and Edmond had gotten onto the road later than Edmond would have liked. At the rate they were going, they would barely make it back to the manor after sunset. It was not the ideal situation. There had been some stories from the town that highway men were known to attack the road but would wait until dusk to attack any of the carriages. Edmond could feel his training coming back little by little the longer they were on the road back to the manor. Tresa seemed oblivious to the dangers but Edmond did not want to frighten her, especially if nothing happened. They rode for another hour. Tresa made light conversation as Edmond answered just enough to satisfy her but not enough to not keep his ears and eyes off their surroundings.
