EIGHTEEN THE FOOD WAS ON THE TABLE when she and Daire got back there. Everyone ate, Tess had a couple more drinks, and then they were heading home. She couldn’t remember ever looking forward to bed so much in her life. Not just because the day had been tiring, but because lying with Daire would make everything right again, even if it was just for the duration of the night.
