WHILE REVEREND DAN was preaching on the Fourth Commandment—“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy”—the foxhunters of Crutchfield County were more concerned about a late season hurricane moving toward the southeast coast. There was a chance it might hit Georgia and bounce back out into the Atlantic. But the likelihood was greater that it would hug the shore, continue to draw moisture from the ocean, and deposit downpours far enough inland to deluge Crutchfield County and keep hounds in kennels for both the Tuesday and Thursday hunts.
