CHAPTER 4Abby couldn't believe how this night was turning out. She squinted out the windshield into the wind-blown rain as she made her way back down the road into town. She'd driven all that way only to find out that the address on Jasper's license wasn't his current address. No, that house belonged to his ex-wife. The van's windshield wipers seemed to beat in time to her heart. Beside her Jasper sat silent, awake now, looking out the window at the rain.
