Chapter 61Knight Homes was managing to capture its share of the repair market, landing a contract for an apartment complex on Chestnut Street in the Marina. Even though the big earthquake happened nearly two years prior, many houses and buildings stood vacant, attesting to the effect of worsening recessionary times. Surprisingly, Cameron was able to secure a couple of contracts for new homes in Marin County as well.
Time passed swiftly. Rachael's third book was nearly done. Now she was seeing the chapters of her next novel already forming in her mind. “Two a year is my goal,” she said.
“Your schedule is chaotic,” Matthew said.
“With each new book, I've got to do the autographing sessions and publicity interviews.”
“I have to hand it to Dennis DeBaer and Geri Daniels,” he said. “They've
