Chapter 54“Que te pase, mi'ja?” Rosa asked one morning. “More than two months pass since Nueva York.” “Nothing's going on, Rosa.” Rachael said, unable to produce a smile. “Something different with you, supposed to be happy, have three books published. Another one soon and many more. Que maravilloso.” Instead, Rachael became retracted and morose. Having immediately started writing a new story, she occupied herself at the computer as many hours as ever, except to make the choice of eating or fainting from hunger. She no longer became rejuvenated by exercising and did little. Meditation became an escape. A few simple necessary errands were delegated to Rosa or delayed as long possible. She saw no one.
